@thedieselpig4448Ай бұрын
I look forward to it. I have the primary aligned. I had to file the slots on the plate and move the trans towards the inner. Now my drive sprockets don’t line up. I hope you don’t have the same issue for your project, really appreciate your videos. If you were closer, I’d ask for you to have a look. Not many shovel guys in my area. I’m learning to check and double check everything. Just not used to the solution when it won’t line up.
@itsmytimeletsgoАй бұрын
@@thedieselpig4448 The only thing I might add, in that situation, is to loosen up the motor mounts and trans mounts, then bolt the two to the primary. Motor 4 bolts first, then the trans. Often when the motor is not lossened up it can be out of line, thus pulling the primary on an angle to begin with. Just a suggestion and you might have done this already but throwing it out there anyway. Good luck.

Ralph new to your channel. Glad you are giving a thumbs up to the V Twin reproduction case. Good job teaching us about the cowpie. 2 Comments: Cowpie compared to rachet top what can you tell us? Also I know Taiwan Ted parts are sometimes all you can get your hands on so kudos to T.T. for sourcing a cowpie case.

Welcome to the channel. Hope you enjoy it. Both have their pros and cons. Ratchet top is better if you are going stick shift. We work with what we can get, unless you have an unlimited budget. Thanks for commenting.

Great video! Agreed never had a genuine James gasket leak on me?! Gasket sealer is goopy stuff? Many people swear by it?! Do you run gasket & sealer? More the marry-er? Don’t have much experience with the long term? James gaskets only: have been working thus far? Any need for sealer or just to hold gasket in place while bolting on housings? I also agree with NOT batching thread locker on bolts to easy to miss one turning a 20minute job into 2 20minute jobs + burning off thread locker to re-apply? Pain for sure!? Slow and steady! Haha Great videos THANKS!
@itsmytimeletsgoАй бұрын
I have always had good luck with James gaskets and am not much for sealers. I do use it in a few spots sometimes to hold it in place when installing. Yes putting bolts back in that have old thread locker on them can create problems so I wire wheel each and every bolt when I am installing them again. Glad you are enjoying the channel and find it helpful. Thanks for commenting.

Where did you get a brand new case, and how much did it cost?
@itsmytimeletsgoАй бұрын
I got it from one of my distributors. It is an aftermarket case so not sure of manufacture, I think it may be a V twin replica case. They cost about $700.00 CDN up here with taxes in. You use what you can get, or afford, as we all know today. Thanks for commenting.
