Exactly 23 years back - 2 Dec 2001 - was the day of my conversion. Before that I had never read the Bible all my life. So, the Pentecostal experience was totally new for me. At that small age I sought God for two blessings: 1) to get victory over sin and 2) healing of my father. A few months later I went to a pastor and asked " Pastor, I repented of every sin that God reminded me of, But those sins are still coming back to me and I am not getting victory". This question was from a newly converted Christian, a spiritual child, who was taking baby steps. The reply I got : it's because you haven't taken water baptism. When you take water baptism that Egyptian army will drown in the water of Red Sea." This is the difference between just preaching dry doctrine and expounding powerful truth. After 23years of trying and trying to get rid of sin without knowing the Gospel of Jesus my 23 year old question was answered. I thank God for His leading and yet - it's not I but through Christ in me.

The inherent tenedency in us to sin against God is called nature of sin. And this nature impacts every aspect of our lives and thoroughly corrupts us - Total Depravity. These truths help us realize and understand something very abstract... I AM MY GREATEST ENEMY... I am the primary agent of sin and then comes the world, satan etc. My greatest enemy ain't the devil or the fallen angels or any other person. It is me. And our Lord died to suffer the punishment of my sin nature and total depravity and rose again to defeat me and set me free from myself first... His resurrection makes me triumphant over my sin nature and my total depravity... Jesus empowers me and only He makes me overcome...

In all my years I have never heard of the term Total Depravity. This is an amazing truth and I am hearing this over and over again. I thank God almighty for revealing this truth to you Anna as sometimes we were been told to deal with sin Like a naughty kitten, but well not been told how to deal with a dinosaur. This truth will definitely offend many but at the same time it is going to set free. I believe that as God lead you to this truth and you found the living relationship with Christ, I also want to have a Living relationship with God through Jesus Christ.

Each and every word is like a sword piercing our soul, dealing with our SELF, tearing us out and showing who we are and leading us to a great liberty, of knowing WHO HE IS for us...Thank God for His Goodness that led us to discover this truth, that opens the DOOR towards God, to love Him greatly,madly and faithfully knowing His unconditional love and His great purpose towards this totally deprived ones. Thank you brother for sharing this truth that sets us free indeed. It's only His goodness and mercy, His long suffering love, that is patiently dealing with us so far, in atmost care, graciously allowing various situations and people in our lives to make us discover Him through the discovery of this fundamental yet life changing truth. He alone is worthy to be praised forever and ever no matter what sadness or happiness the life brings on our way. It's the wonder of wonders to know how God shook the world for Himself through such broken people who first discovered this truth in their lives. Truly enlightened brother and this gives hope to our hopeless life.❤
