I love Millie and I'll say exactly why here: Millie in Season 1 is meant to be the opposite of Priya making their alliance go through test after test and it's ALWAYS placed onto Millie's back that it's her own fault. From the very start we as the audience as acutely aware that Millie sees literally everyone at camp as an idiot and is using them for her book which already makes her one of the most interesting characters just on the outset. We've never seen a character that actively DOESN'T want to win from the start of the Season making her slow game make a lot of sense and the pay off later in the finale where Millie admits she didn't think she could actually do anything to make the finals hit so much harder. It was never about her being lazy or stupid it was her self-esteem that made her POSITIVE that she wouldn't win this Season. Which is why her friendship with Priya is so engaging. Her friendship toward Priya is constantly being strained over the Season in small ways. Like when they're training together and Millie not only drinks all the water but makes Priya carry her back leading to Priya being incredibly dehydrated during the challenge. Millie constantly refuses to put her all into challenges like how she's the LAST person to actively try going on the catapult but slowly she gets better and better over the Season BECAUSE of Priya's influence. It's shown that Priya pushing her to be better than she feels she is has an effect with her taking out the crocodile with the friendship bracelet and WINNING the totem pole challenge when the old Millie WOULD have quit. This makes it all the more depressing when, in the final 4 challenge, Millie directly holds Priya back. She's trying her best to keep up with her but she's just not skilled enough to keep up with a Total Drama pro like Priya. Sure the two win in the end but the ENTIRE episode is set in a way showing JUST how much of a hinderace Millie is to Priya's game and that Priya would be better off without her. Something the earlier episodes of the Season pushed into our heads. Which makes her final 3 performance so cool and show just how much she's changed as a character with her literally rowing over lava to try and make amends with her friend. Sure it's a cool action sequence but it's also a clear showing of just how much she's grown as a person ACTUALLY willing to put in all this effort to show Priya how sorry she is. (I also just appreciate that Ripper is the one who bolsters this inside of her, almost like a call back to her saving him. It isn't... But like... I like to think it's almost good karma for saving Ripper from elimination against Lauren). Either way the point is Millie's story about her self-esteem is actually really well told to me. She starts of nihilistic and generally uncaring. Not really giving a shit what anyone thinks about her on the show and pretending to be above everyone but slowly over the course of the show she begins to realize JUST how much she actually cares and begins to TRULY show it through her actions with Priya. It was also such a great touch that the final 4 episode showed a misstep. That even though she's TRYING she won't always be perfect. Millie is a great character in my opinion and the only thing she REALLY needed was more interactions with the rest of the cast and she'd basically be perfect to me in Season 1 considering I also just find her jokes to be SUPER funny most of the time. And then Millie in Season 2 is just funny as fuck. She exists basically to joke about the fact she didn't read Priya's strategy guide and her actions fucking up everything is karma for it. I think it's such a simple plot but it's something she DEFINITELY needed as it added a friendship between her and Damien allowing her to grow from just a Priya centric character so she won't fall into a trap like Bridgette ONLY working when Geoff is in the picture or Trent with Gwen. I generally just think they did a great job making Millie work well in Season 1 focusing entirely around Priya and then Season 2 being a short and hilarious plotline which expanded her character and allowed her to be used more with OTHER characters in the future. Sorry I went on a whole ass rant but like... This is generally why I think Millie is such a great character, I do concede that she SHOULD have interacted with the other players more (outside of Ripper, she weirdly talks to Ripper a lot) in Season 1. But other than that she definitely doesn't deserve to be so hated as she is in the TD fandom. I'll end this off by saying. Fuck Caleb💖All my homies hate Caleb. Millie Sweep But seriously. As much as I love Millie and hate Caleb. I think their entire characters come down to if you find them funny or not. If you find Millie funny then... You'll PROBABLY love her. Since I don't find Caleb's jokes at ALL funny but I love Millie's. Yeah, I like Millie and hate Caleb. I know why he is the way he is but when it comes down to it I just don't find him at all funny when he actively goes against Priya and I'm meant to laugh when she gets electrocuted etc. And that's all it comes down to. The humour is what makes TD tick so if you don't think Millie or Caleb are funny it fucks them up entirely unlike a character that's deeper like Bowie or Julia where you might not find them funny but STILL love their characters.

I’m gonna be 100% honest, ever since I first saw the reboot‘s first season Priya has always been in my top five of characters in the whole show she’s consistently being a character who I’ve loved because of her story. Yes, it was great in season one but I’d argue. She’s even better in season two. And I’m going to be 100% honest, how you covered Priya finally made me realize how much I adore Priya and why I do. I’m debating right now whether or not she’s my favorite protagonist or favorite character in the whole series. You do a great job at deep diving!! your summaries, explanations, and overall analysis of these three characters made me love them all the more I thank you for this amazing video, you are by far one of the best Total Drama KZbinrs Ever and this video is an extremely good example of it Keep up the great work man ^^

Priya used physical strength without much plot armor in the first season and admitted a few imperfections but she was pampered by the writers in the second season for her flaws until Julia took her down. In my opinion some of the characters who were eliminated before Priya in the second reboot season deserved to make it further into the game instead of her.

I really loved how you were able to precisely breakdown this trio in such a meaningful manner I personally liked each of them but your analysis was so good in exploring the ways each of them had the effect on each other and why said character changes worked in the end Glad to still be a Priya stan and this video kinda helped me when most of the community would jump someone who liking her past S1 Your Caleb's perspective was honestly really unique and it perfectly set the groundwork for the rest of dysfunction in the later half of S2 All in All good video, Sorry for the rambling I'm not too good articulating my words😅

I’d argue the show implying he was manipulating her but explicitly saying he wasn’t(saying he thought she felt the same way about the alliance) is pretty based, it’s meant to trick you, the viewer as well as the characters into thinking he was flirting, taking it past the 4th wall

Caleb is probably my favorite reboot contestant and this was a great video, I’m happy to see videos on why they like him because I feel like Caleb probably has the least fans out of the 3 (from what I’ve seen at least). I also think he’s hilarious there’s just something amusing about this absolute Titan that’s a psychical powerhouse also being this goody two shoes with the communication skills of a brick

Caleb sucks because of how little illogical he is. He wanted to be in an alliance with Priya but never asked her ONCE, believing that flirting with someone would only give you an alliance & literally teaming up with Julia because "he would've gotten home that episode" Which would make sense if nobody saw them kiss Priya in Episode 10

@@grandom7116 yea I think the alliance with priya makes sense on paper even if it ISNT a smart decision. The comedy of Caleb’s obliviousness carries it in the early half. And the teaming up with Julia thing was to save both himself and priya. But also I just think the twist works as a way to show how indecisive Caleb is and how priya needs to bounce off of that despite everything.

I honestly liked Millie after her season 2 run. As for Caleb and Priya? Both overstayed their welcome in season 2 and were kept instead of more interesting characters like MK and Damien. I don't hate either one of them, but I am so tired of them now.

That's perfectly fair, for me personally Priya and Calebs own humor and strategic plays saved them from being annoying. But also it WAS in sacrifice of other characters. I found it to service a greater good but also there's other interpretations 🤷‍♂

Honestly, I truly don’t get why so many people hate Caleb. Saying Caleb quickly lost his charm after Episode 8 of Season 2. But honestly, I think Caleb becomes a more fun character when he becomes more at the forefront. You saw more range in personality from him as he deals with both being a big target in the game and his strained relationship with Priya. I really just felt more connected to the guy and as such, he’s 20th/100th in the TD character rankings. Millie, I’ve always thought was overhated. Plain and simple. Sure, she isn’t the most riveting and entertaining personality. But I think she works for what she is, and people complaining that she’s just a floater/coaster and needed Priya to even get to Final 3 just seem to forget…that *that’s* the point. Millie lands 28th/100th in my TD character ranking. And Priya. Gotta be honest. Priya is the one who really sank after her season 2 appearance. I don’t like how overexposed she is. She gets the most lines in both seasons she in, AND, alongside Julia, is the only other person to be in all 26 episodes of the reboot. She wouldn’t go away, and I grew pretty tired of her. And I really started to hate how she kind of mistreated Caleb. For God’s sake, she tried to MURDER him with a boulder! (And she also tried to push Millie into lava, but I at least understand that situation). For me, Priya ends up dropping to 30th/100th in the TD character ranking. I think it’s wild these 3 are considered to be so polarizing. Considering I do like all 3 of them for different reasons.
