I own the orient open heart. It's simple dress watch. I use it to teach kids about automatic watches. They find it interesting looking at the inside of the watch.

I like how a watch is considered affordable in the watch community when it’s like $300
@paulrevere476 жыл бұрын
Dude...one of your best recommendations yet, for me!! Affordable for us folks who have incomes and financial obligations that limit our desires, but of course, NOT our appreciations. Mankind's ability to bring these kinds of articulations to 'regular folk' is not to be short-sighted.

The Jazzmaster is awesome! The cutout is very deliberate and it shows the intricacies of a mechanical watch.

Also the Tissot powermatic looks amazing and would be my first choice on the list. But the Orient isn't bad and is the only one I could afford, so that would likely be what I would go for

My dad has it, but I don't really gave it much thought. I brushed it off as simply another tissot. I never knew it was a really cool watch. Can you tell me about its movement? Would really appreciate it.

Tissot Powermatic 80 movement is just awesome ! 80 hours of utter accuracy is sweet.
@TheVirtualStealth6 жыл бұрын
If anyone is on the fence about entry level open hearts, I will say the Esteem is better than the Bambino. The Bambino has a lug width of 21 mm, while the Esteem is on 22 mm. Aesthetically they are pretty much the same (I haven't spotted any obvious differences). The only thing the Esteem is missing is a blue dial model.

I've been thinking of picking up an open heart watch, but something I've been wondering about is about when is the most appropriate time to wear one. (I know wear what you like, I like rules though...) Is an open heart considered less formal than a non open heart dress watch? Too flashy for business situations and suits? I live in Japan and they tend to be on the conservative/formal side of things compared to Americans, flashy often is looked down on.

Is it rare to not like open heart watches? Every open heart watch I've seen just looks like a broken watch, like the factory somehow forgot to put on the whole dial. At least with tourbillons the watch is generally designed to look good with it. Open hearts just look like weird redesigns of regular dress watches to me.

Jorry, I like your style and the fact that your videos are relatively short and dense. Where I think you could really improve is in the visuals department. Showing these rinky dink inset photos of watches you are recommending is a real disservice to them. The Urban Gentry is strong in visuals and I think you’d widen your appeal by paying a little more attention to that part of your presentation.
