I believe Kryston were the first company to do coated hooklinks? Been around since the 80's I'm sure! Most famous for Quicksilver hooklink.. when you say the facebook page do you mean group?? Little bit different xD
@WetLines3 жыл бұрын
I mean group, sorry forgot there's pages and groups. And oh right, interesting... I'm gonna have to do myself some research on Kryston and other brands, can't lie.. I've pretty much got into fishing and just stuck with what seems to be the go to obvious brands. Clearly I need have a look around more!!👌

Snake skin. Snake bite. Quick silver. Mantis silkworm. All legendary hooklink materials made by kryston
@onemadmanc4300 Жыл бұрын
From what I remember, Kryston were the first to introduce supple strong hooklink materials to the carp scene (they weren't actually designed for fishing) other than people trying dacron or heavy sea braid (which were both awful) Non of them were coated as that wasn't created til many years later when these materials started to be manufactured purposely for fishing instead of parachutes and space suits etc but the original offerings were first sold in sample packs of the materials they were trying out to give anglers a taster before purchasing a full spool which were pretty expensive at the time... Each pack contained about 6 or 7 different types and estimated breaking strains (I actually still have some of them original samples and packets) with names like... Merlin, silkworm, supersilk and multistrand etc they were the first and only braided hooklink company on the market at the time which was at the very beginnings of tackle being made solely for catching carp.... Up until around that time very few targeted carp and those few that did would often be seen using sea fishing tackle or hand built boron, glass or if you're lucky graphite rods with some even using boat fishing multipliers, so Kryston were possibly one of the main reasons carp fishing is as big as it is now as their products made it possible for many of us to finally land these huge mysterious fish that destroyed so much tackle and lines previously......without using shark traces and rope 😁 The documentary on how the company started, where the name came from and how they came about their products is absolutely fascinating and definitely worth watching 👍

😂 I'm personally still really rather new to fishing. So yeah my knowledge of brands and such isn't the greatest compared to some. Learning in the last 3 or 4 years only to be honest.
