Bought PVA bags and mesh from Temu. Work as they should and at a fraction of the cost of UK tackle shops. I'd wage a lot of the stuff in our stores are made in the same factories out in Asia but repackaged with added Carp tax! Some stuff you get what you pay for but other 'basic' items - you can't really go wrong unless you like the fancy branded packaging (which just goes in the bin!).

Pva is pva at the end of the day so as long as ot dissolves you are onto a winner 👌🏻

End tackle is we’re they make lots of profit. Stuf like line-aligners, swivels, etc. Or the desolving foam which is just really cheap packaging material.

I’m a way it does go to show that if some of these things (spomb being a prime example) can be made and sold for 99p and someone still make profit - how much margin tackle companies make.

Back in December 2023 i had my Fox Low Level Carryall stolen that had 20 years of terminal tackle most of it new inside a Fox Double F Box as well as 60lb x 1oz Reuben Heaton scales,Fox SX alarms and other stuff totally around £800. So unbeknown to men my missus actually bought me that exact rig box with all the bits and pieces in it as a stocking filler for Christmas. Bless her she doesn’t fully get how naff most of this stuff is and most carp anglers wouldn’t go near any cheap knock off rubbish that is sold on those sort of sites. However to be fair i have used the extender stops that came in my pack and they were spot on 👌 And i have some Fox hooks from a few years back that are also a very shiny metallic so i wouldn’t be too bothered about the glare from them cheap hooks but they do look savage and maybe crimp the barb down.

@jamesrussel11339 ай бұрын
There’s more of this stuff manufactured in China, perfectly good, badged for sale in the U.K. massively marked up than most realise. As far as budget alarms go you shouldn’t laugh I have been putting £6 alarms to use for ages to great effect stalking. They weight nothing, fix to the rod directly, have a roller wheel to operate them, the same principal as our normal alarms. Ok there is one tone and volume but they also have a small LED reacting to the spin of the wheel too. Much smaller than your admittedly rubbish “rape alarm” they are brilliant for poking that stalking rod through bushes and urban fishing where there is nowhere to sink a bank stick. Not for night fishing they do a brilliant job and you are not worried about losing them at a dodgy venue as there is no resale value. Hunt them down, they are held on the rod by a rubber O ring.

@DjDolHaus869 ай бұрын
A lot of the time the product doubles in price every time it changes hands. Lets say the factory in china can make a product for £1, they then sell it to a distributor for £2, the distributor sells it to a wholesaler in the target country for £4, the company whose brand will ultimately go on the product in shops buys them for £8, they then sell them to shops for £16 and the shop sells them to the consumer for £32. Obviously it's not exactly that clean and there are incurred costs by each company along the way so it's not all profit but that's a simplification of how it works
