Best method ever. Completed 2 Ironman 140.6s with great swim times after learning this method. No previous swim experience. The method is life changing.

My biggest issue is trying to co-ordinate my kick with the hip propulsion to move the arms, plus of course breathing on both sides. If I can break them barriers I think I'm about 90% there.

from the hips and the core you get huge propulsion forwards.

Hi, Gian. Finis sells this - it's called the Swimmer's Snorkel.

The best way to convince yourself that the program works is to explore the drills and feel the difference first. Within 3-6 months, a typical swimmer can expect to stay the same 'time speed' but exert much less energy. As with any skill, you need to learn the skills slowly and gradually build up speed (the stroke rate with swimming). Within 6-9 months, your neural circuits become rewired to your new technique even when stroke rate increase. This is when you will begin to notice the 'time speed' benefits.

I started TI in January, having not been a lap swimmer ever, or even getting in the pool, I do know how to swim. I have really enjoyed the mental challenge of learning this. I've gone from swimming a mile in 65 minutes to a mile in 40 minutes. I also taught myself flip turns. What I love is the constant improvement and breakthroughs, the kaizen part. Little things will click and it steps it up even more. I had best swim ever last Friday then injured my back over the weekend. So with a strained back I couldn't flip turn and I backed off speed and reevaluated breathing and form, and engaging core better. In spite of being injured I have swam four miles this week and have been able to fine tune and target some areas that needed attention. So, all was not lost during the injury. (Injury was not caused by swimming, I tripped and fell down the stairs....I'm more graceful in water than out)

Tri Balance hi I am new to TI. i am shocked at how slowly i move down the pool. Thanks for your post. Hopefully i will improve. my friends say.. youve got the rotation.. not quite the speed !

Thank you for all your video hear. How much should the head be in the water? Is it recommended that the finger touched the water while moving the hand forwards? ( See for example 2:17, 2:31 ) it looks like it stop the moving.

You need to plant the front arm/hand to get a good catch and then swing the momentum of the body through past the arm to create proper propulsion and speed. I think that is the missing link. If you just try to get momentum through the body alone you will be going too slow without a good arm catch to pull and then push against.

I don't understand why the hands drag through the water during recovery.

This is not faster. It is more for endurance. I wish Terry was able to explain WHY using the body propels you forward. I've watched his seminar, and his DVD, and he never explains this.

hi Robert Brandywine, i'm going to attempt to answer your question in reference to body roll+reach, pretty much when you role you turn your hips, by turning your hips is like taking a golf swing, kicking a soccer ball or taking a swing with a baseball bat, by turning/rolling your body, it helps create a pivot movement which leads to your hands digging deeper for more #solid water to propel you forward, but it must be perform properly since it could cause rotator cuff issues, theres more to this but thats my 2 cent

Lodwin Cueto Thanks for taking the time to respond. I agree that when I watch good swimmers that they do some movement that seems to push their already extended arm and hand even more forward, but can't somehow relate it to body roll. It seems to me the only way the body can get the arm on one side more forward would be to tilt the hips somehow, so that the hip is more forward on the extended side.
@OpenGeeklanthropy10 жыл бұрын
Robert Brandywine glad I was able to help, yeah I do agree with you on that the roll+tilt can be a be tricky to understand how to apply, but everything is done in one movement which makes it sometimes a bit difficult to understand how to apply it as part of your streamline, which is sometimes the reason why recording yourself or having someone who knows about this things take a look at you while your doing and apply the proper drills ti fix it

Robert Brandywine Think it has to do with gravity. The high-end hip drives downwards diagonally. The shape and everything else is to reduce drag,

@MrYoumitube.... How to achieve coordination... the biggest mistake is doing to do any tension in your shoulder muscles or arm mouscles... full arm with shoulder need to be relaxed... steps like that 1. get supper man position 2. Both arm in the water 30 or 40 degrees 3. full arm and should mouscles relaxed.. why??!! because the rib that support shoulder joint with rib cage need to be flexible to let shoulder joint bone open when you rotate hip bones... .kick one leg up and another leg down... this will do the following.. hip bones rotate... then the hip bone will rotate spinal chord.. spinal chord will rotate the rib cage.. but as I mentioned above shoulder joint bones need to be not freez.. you can test by relaxing arm and shoulder mouscle and try to move shoulder joint bone withot rotatating your rib cage with this joint and you will know this point.... if you tens any mouscle from your shoulder or arm it will not give yoy the proper action that is doing in this vedio.. hope that helps

Breathing is the most difficult aspect of T.I. Snorkels are not the answer as most /if not all swimming pools in the U K do not allow them

you gotta teach people to swim and breath without a SNORKLE...WHAT IS THIS?!
@boristuga6 жыл бұрын
I guess it's mainly to be able to practice the different parts of the movement without having to worry about the breathing at the same time.
