This patient can walk without a cane 2 weeks after total knee replacement. She underwent a less invasive approach with a multi-modal pain control program. The surgery was performed by Dr. Andrew Noble in Jupiter, FL.

Oh you're not alone. Don't feel bad. I think some of these videos are a joke. It took my body a week just to get over the anesthesia they gave me in the hospital. I still can't sleep at night and I'm only a little over a week out and still having nightmares.'s. .. there's a lot more to having a knee replacement surgery that they don't talk about. I am 66 years old. I am 28 days out from knee replacement surgery and am experiencing A GREAT DEAL OF PAIN STILL. I work VERY HARD, DAILY with PT. For instance today I did 3 sessions on the RomTech bike at 14 minutes each session PLUS MY PT exercises and have recently graduated from a walker to a cane. Still swelling and needing ice packs. This woman’s recovery is in the minority I will bet you. My recovery is also in the minority as in how much I am struggling with pain and swelling I will bet. I think the doctor is setting people up for complete disappointment after upcoming surgeries. Everyone is different and THIS is not the norm!

I had the best surgeon in the country. First tkr was 6/1. Pain was uncontrollable with strong opiates. I was crazy enough to have another on 10/19 and I'm going through the same thing. Pain is off the charts. I'm 64. I go to my Dr appointments in a wheelchair

@@rosemarietosh4734 I am just curious what you think are strong opiates? I am not being a smart aleck, I truly would like to know. I am very knowledgeable on opiates, thinking of becoming an advocate for those who need pain relief and are not getting it. I’ve been to congressional briefings on Capitol Hill and listened to leading Dr.s and scientists express their concerns of patients not getting adequate pain relief. My blood pressure shot up to 170/110 for 8 plus hours UNTIL I received adequate pain relief. For me whose blood pressure runs 124/74 I was worried.

@Kat Piotrowski The pain doctor gave me hydromorphone but only 2 MG. I would take two at a time just to take the edge off. They stopped working after 2 weeks. Oxycontin and Norco don't help. I have a very honest doctor who said: "Look, for the first week or so after surgery, you will be sorry you did this. You WILL be in a lot pain, probably worse than what you are experiencing right now, but with time it will recede. And it is possible that it will take a year-perhaps more-to fully recover." It's turning out he was correct. It IS painful surgery, but with time-and a lot of PT work-things improve. I am passing this along because we all hear wonderful stories leading us to believe this is a cakewalk, which it is not. Go in with your eyes wide open, plan for the long haul, and you will be alright. Despite the original pain and all the PT work, I would absolutely do it again.

Two weeks out after total knee replacement. This is BS. The pain is unbearable. The docs don't want to prescribe anything that is too strong as the addicts have ruined the pain situation for the people who really need it. Second, I'm way younger than this woman and I was on a walker for two weeks, then a cane for about a month. Went to PT which was extremely helpful but painful. Sleeping was a challenge until about two months after surgery. Yes, I know, everyone heals differently. Blah blah. Doctors never tell their patients just how painful knee replacement surgery and recovery really is. Nobody would get it done. Just be honest, doctors out there. I still have pressure climbing stairs, and it will be five months since surgery. By the way, my surgery was handled by an excellent doctor at one of the best hospitals in Boston.

Bottom line everyone is different. I was almost in the 1976 summer Olympics in Montreal 200m sprint now I need a knee replacement at 67. The posts are all over the place. Not expecting much.

If I had it all over to do again I would have never got bilateral knee replacement they feel like I'm lifting weights they're heavy! They didn't tell me that!
@robertlosasso4222 Жыл бұрын
@david…Where did you find that surgeon at Pep Boys . The replacement only takes just about one hour . I had my right knee done and went home the next day and started physical therapy, in three weeks I was going up and down stairs and driving myself to therapy . I only took some pain meds for two weeks. The pain was minimal .

I was doing wind sprints the next day after having bilateral knee surgery, only took St. Joseph's children's aspirin for pain, 😵💫

Maybe is that she went under a less invasive procedure. And the way they treated pain.
@gailnovak2593 Жыл бұрын
Maybe she just had a partial knee replacement?

This is BS. No pain two weeks post op is very rare, not the norm. Note: no confirmation not taking pain drugs. Again just unethical doc’s advertisement.

Its hard to believe its only been 2 wks for her tkr, judging by her scar, its been at least 6 wks.don't believe everything you see on the internet.

please I am two months and don't walk as freely as this lady. I am not sure she had what I have because I use my Kane and the side walk I use my walker because I still experience some pain, some stiffness, and some swelling I will say I have been experiencing improvement but she dosent walk like someone who recently experience total replacement because at two weeks the surgery is still fresh outside may look like it's yield up but the inside is a totally different thing

I'm proof that it is true. 76 years old. Walking without aids. Taking only 1ibuprofen mornings. I climb stairs , but that hurts. I push myself. I'm 17 days post op.

Absolutely BS and should never have listened to a doctor that was a good salesman to get people to have these operations.

Very few people are this good at 2 wks. Do what your PHYSICAL therapy tells you, lots of ice, get up and walk a bit several times a day, everyone is different. Most people take 1+ year to recover. And if you have scar tissue, do the manipulation at 10 weeks.take

I call bull shit I’m two week out from having it done and it’s 2022 there is no way maybe two years later and this is my 2nd time ..

I’m tired of all these Super Knee Replacement heroes. The first week is pure hell, it’s not until four to six months that you can start to feel at all normal. You acclimate to the pain, stiffness, pops, clicks and swelling. What you have at six months is pretty much what you will have. The limitations and discomfort of a totally rehabbed TKR, is much better than 10/10 bone-on -bone pain you started with. Your pain may eventually go away completely, but you may have to settle for 3/10 discomfort with certain activities. Measure progress by months not days. This is the third most brutal surgery there is, don’t soft soap it. If you go home the same day, the pain medicines you take with, won’t be enough. You really need IV narcotics, nerve blocks, epidural anesthesia etc. for the first few days. Motrin, melatonin, and gummy bears can’t touch this pain. 😂

You didn’t have the right surgeon . Should have asked physical therapists who the right doctor is before, they know who he is because they take care of the patients he operated on .
