You will be fine. Several pieces of advice after 1 TKR, 1 Revision and 2 clean outs. 1) Remember that your recovery takes time. 2) Start your exercises as soon as you get to your room or home after surgery. Your body will tell you that you cannot place weight on your replacement (only natural as your body is protecting the affected joint), but you can put weight on it. 3) Remembering how to walk will be a challenge, but mentally tell yourself heel to toe, heel to toe, repeat as you walk. 4) Stay on top of your meds from the get go....don't fall behind.....you have too many other things to do to assist your recovery and pain will stop you cold if you get behind! 5) Stay on top of channels like Tony's and other KZbin channels to learn what you can do at home OR how to understand what is happening as you progress. 6) Depression (or desperation) can hit you fast.....but don't let it.....get up and walk every hour as much as possible. I have a mailbox at the end of my driveway and I checked it 6-8 times a day knowing that the mail was only delivered once a day. Good luck!

Hi Tony, 2/52 post TKR and pushing through😳 with the help of your videos, thank you so much you are fabulous, I’ve subtly passed your you tube channel details to my surgeon and physio 😂. A quick question I obviously have generalised post-op bruising, swelling and knee pain which I am actively managing the best I can, my quads are now firing better and progress is being made however I intermittently experience a very painful and constant cramp like pain radiating down from the very base of my back, down the rear of my thigh and down the outer side of my leg below the knee. This usually occurs a little while after my quad exercises but not always . I saw my physio on Friday, she wondered if it was related to the position I was doing my exercises but offered no other guidance rather than try a change of position, did that, but no difference. Have you any idea what it might be or has anyone here had similar pain. Not an emergency but very painful and exhausting It’s now 2.45am here in the uk, as usual analgesia is not effective with this, ice helping a little and the only intermittent relief at all is from standing on and off for a couple of hours which I’m sure is not good for the knee. Not asking for any remote diagnosis but just wondered if you had come across this before? 🥰🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇬🇧

Hey Tony, I'm 11 weeks PO one 2nd TKR. This knee refuses to bend as well and still painful compared to first; my OS said the pliac tissue folds may be catching in my new knee. Ever heard about this one???

I just found your channel and am so glad I did!!!! I'm 11 months after Bilateral TKR's. I did very well in PT but although I am rowing on my indoor water rower, doing yoga, barre, and walking about 1.5 - 2 mi., (I space a day or two between these activities), I am finding that I feel slightly unbalanced when I turn or shift. I don't feel completely strong and stable when outside walking. Is this normal? I understand the metabolic healing activity within the joint continues for 2 years + after surgery. When doing yoga, it's difficult to rotate knee outward in a flex and the other problem I'm having is that no one told me how to get on and off floor with both knees affected! :) I have to go into a "down dog" to get on and off! I love your videos and will start doing agility ladder exercise!! thank you!!!! l wish there was more information for bilateral healing of TKR.

Im 28 and my doctors want to do a joint spacer because of my age. What do you think would be better a TKR or a Joint Spacer to hold off on the TKR? Im trying to avoid multiple surgeries but not sure which is better since my age is causing problems.

Your doctor knows best. I haven't seen anyone around here do that, but I also don't usually see patients as young as you.

What is the cause of a loose implant, resulting in a revision?

Surgeon told me at 6 week PO X-rays show a loose cement piece in my surgical area. Said it can stay there unless it catches, then removal. Can you address this outcome? Thank you

Hi! Tony I've had 4 steroid injections in my knee 5 days ago 3 months after my TKR the swelling and stiffness and heat in the knee has reduced but i don't know what the long term benefits will be better or worse im still doing my PT at home. Ps love your videos.

Had knee replacement 18 days ago, going well but the thing that is most annoying is the feeling over the knee that someone has stuck a load of stinging nettles on my knee, Im presuming this is the nerves getting back to normal. Is this normal, any idea approx how long will go on for?

Hi dr i just had my 14th surgery on oct 10th 2023 i had spine and neck surgery and right shoulder durgery sane soit 3 times can lift my rught arm high pain i had knee arthroscopic then 6 years ago i had right knee placement then on oct 10th 2023 i just had left knee robotic surgery it has got me down it feels like a tight rubber band getting tight in my knee it wont let me bend all the way when i had my right knee placement my out patient therapy she hent my knee all the way back i heard a pop my knee felt good it wasnt tight no more i was able to ride the bike i went to therapy l went Friday to therapy she didnt bent my leg she just told me to get on the bike it was so tight and painful i couldnt petal right i felt like a failure and just cried on the table that i didnt go to therapy this monday morning i just feel like giving up every time i try im not getting no where i wish i nevernever had my knee done i still cry
