Total Knee Replacement Surgery Day 26
My Free Ebook My Total Knee Replacement Surgery download.sqribble.net/editor/...
🎥 Hey everyone, welcome back to my channel! Today marks day 26 post my total knee replacement surgery, and let me tell you, it's been quite the journey. 💪
The biggest challenge I've been facing lately is managing the pain. Walking and tackling stairs aren't too bad, thankfully. I've been diligently following all the post-op instructions given to me. But let's talk about the difference between hospital care and home care.
While I received fantastic care during my hospital stay, things have been a bit different at home. I've been using this app to fill out a questionnaire every day, and if there's any issue, I'm supposed to consult my family doctor. Well, guess what happened?
My doctor got concerned about some redness and thought it might be an infection. Cue a trip back to the emergency room, countless hours, and a battery of tests later, it turns out there's no infection after all. Phew! 🙌
Now I've been advised to rest for the next 7 days. And guess what's happening on the 15th? Exactly one month post-surgery, I'll be meeting with my surgeon and the team again for some X-rays and to discuss the next steps in my recovery journey.
Stay tuned for that update! And if you've been through something similar, drop your tips and experiences in the comments below. Let's support each other through this journey. Remember, we're all in this together. 💖 #KneeSurgeryRecovery #HealthJourney #StayStrong

Wow, that looks painful! I had my TKR April 18, so a few days behind you! My ROM is 90-95 & do have pain when I stand about 10-15 mins. Pt is good until they start bending my knee to get a better ROM, then the pain starts with swelling. It surely is a difficult ride unlike what the surgeon sugar coated! I hope you are ok and your knee heals! Good luck!

Glad you had all sorted & not infected. Think I am in same boat as you up about on feet too long need to rest more. It's a vicious cycle isn't it. This is my 13th day home after L/TKR & feel going well very pleased but find knee swells after being on feet 20/30 mins so have to elevate ice rest up more. All the best in your recovery we have to be patient put feet up.

Yes I will be seeing my specialist tomorrow and it has been 6 days since the last visit. Still in a lot of pain and to be honest it is the early hours of the morning and unable to sleep because of the pain. But able to walk all day stairs no problem. I will find out more tomorrow to what is happening to my knee. I also have been told every one is different . I wish you a speedy recovery and thanks for the support and post.

Robert, good morning 🌞. Do you or have you had a fever at all? I remember my mother going through something similar...no positive indicators for infection but the symptoms were saying otherwise. They were concerned that her body was one of those rare types that managed infection differently so they took her into hospital and had her on an IV drip for 24 hours, at first, to see if the symptoms were improving. She was in hospital on that drip for 3 days. The first 48 hours was antibiotics and then they introduced some special fluids to pep her up and it worked. They said that because she responded to the meds she clearly did have an infection. I think the whole thing remained a mystery but the doctors were pleased with their decision to keep her there on the drip. I wish you all the best and please keep us posted🙏🏻

Keep up the good work. In had my right knee done 5 years ago, went like a dream, was back at work after 5 weeks. Had the left one done one year ago, still swollen, but back at the gym using the elliptical trainer, hopefully now the muscles in Upper leg are developing again, it'll get better....

So happy for your recovery success. To be honest this knee replacement has a lot more pain than my hip replacement surgery I had in 2010. But now I can see the light at the end of there tunnel of a pain free retirement not so far away.

Hi Robert, I've only just seen your channel and it was the photo of your knee that made me take a look as I'd hoped that it was a thumbnail for your whole 'journey'. I know 'they' say you are doing exceptionally well but I'm incredibly concerned by the state of your scar and the redness. I have to say that I'm relieved you'll be seeing your surgeon next week. I know everyone is different but from what I've learned, from my surgeon and physiotherapist and GP, is that the minute there is any redness like that and the incision has parts where it is open and seeping then it is imperative to have it cleaned and treated. Now, although I'm a Brit, I live in Austria so perhaps things are different here but that was the spiel I was given as I left hospital and also when I went to have my staples out. My physio keeps checking for any signs of redness or heat. I was operated upon just over 4 weeks ago and my scar is fully closed. Please forgive me for being concerned. I know we are all meant to be jolly and positive these days with no room for honest concern but I'd be asking someone else for an opinion. I'm truly praying that you get looked after. It is not right that you are in so much pain. God bless you as well Robert and please go get a second opinion and look after yourself. Sending kind thoughts and prayers, Sara☺️🙏🏻☺️

Yes I am a Brit also living in Canada and have spoken to my doctor for his opinion and he says redness is a sign of infection. The Urgent Care team doctor said yes I have infection. But tests to what infection come back negative and after. 6 hours plus it has been also said again no infection. I must admit in the next 2 days I will be making another video and also a photo you will see I have less redness . But also. walking better and leg movement I have been told is better then most that my team have seen in a very long time. This shows I have no infection and even as I have leakage today. Only what my specialist team tells me is what I have to work with. No matter who I see it all goes back to my specialist team . Like it or not I have been told I am so lucky to be able to be doing what I am doing in such a short time. Will keep you informed . Thanks for the support. I wish you a speedy recovery.

That's how swollen my knee is at a similar stage though mine isn't red. I have been alarmed at the amount of swelling. I'm relieved for you that its not an infection, which has been my big dread. Well done on your progress, though I am also fed-up with the pain. I'm surprised at leakage being considered 'normal' at this stage .
