Contraction of the arteries contributes to Total Peripheral Resistance. This contraction also exerts pressure on the blood, called the diastolic blood pressure. In simple words, diastolic blood pressure is due to contraction of the arteries. Hope that helps

What is difference between systemic arterial blood pressure and Mean blood pressure (mean arterial pressure ) or they are same ?

Blood pressure has 2 components. Systolic and diastolic (eg 120/80). When we say blood pressure we usually mean either the systolic or the diastolic. MAP is different. MAP tells you the pressure that is present all the time inside the arteries. The always present pressure (map) gives you an idea how well the organs are being perfused. MAP is calculated adding parts of systolic and diastolic BPs. Map = one third systolic + two third diastolic. There are other equations as well but the idea here is map is not simply the pressure that we casually talk about. It's a mathematical mean of the parts of the systolic and diastolic blood pressures
