HOW I MIRROR FINISH A BAR
I start with an 80 grit flap disc on my angle grinder then I use my drill with 50 mm round sanding discs . I start with 150 grit then go through the following Grits 240-400-800 Then once I get to the following Grits I use a small squirt of WD-40 1200-1500-2000-2500-3000. The WD40 helps to lubricate the discs and stops the sanding disk binding up with the metal powder . Then after that I use my buffer wheel on my bench grinder to get a perfect mirrored finish on it.

Wow! Didn't have a chance to comment last week, but these last two videos have been fantastic! Thank you so much for taking us on the journey to see you build your perfect workshop! I'll admit I got a little worked up seeing you move from the garage and shelves - you've let us into your world so often it feels like we're saying goodbye to a familiar setting. Now, a place where the 10mm sockets can roam free and there's no danger of Mr. Whippy intrusions. Finally got the stack value! Impressive. "Treasure room" indeed. And if all that wasn't enough, we still get a melt! Great to see bullets melted down into something good. The smoke on that brass was near-hypnotic. Also, "nearly full" on that slag jar. I see what you're doing there. You know we're hungry for that slag melt. :) Clearly need to do some Nordic gold and aluminum bronze melts as well and get those crucibles cleaned out.

Treasure room looks awesome !! Love the filled chest.. it looks like such a real pirate treasure !! And FYI, as a shooter, you are wise to use a brass/copper crucible, as the shells, (or cases as we call them) ARE actually made of mainly both those metals. There are a few smaller bits of others but by far and away the bulk is comprised of brass and copper. Also, cases or brass as we call it is really quite expensive buy !! You got a "bounty" there, even though they are old !! 😉

Your numerous metal bars almost looks out of an industrial complex :D I hope that your new place turned out as you wished. Also, i wish there was a way to easily extract different metals from electronic components. Would be interesting to see new metals melted. Just looked this up. Their melting points are mostly much above copper. And if i remember correctly, metals such as Cobalt or Tantalum are in minute quantities in electrical circuit components. So it seems there is no feasible way to gather and melt such metals.

You should do a casting of a trowel, or something similar, to commemorate the completion of the new shed. Btw... I love the treasure room! It turned out SO amazing! 😍

When I'm having a crappy day, sitting down with a drink and a bigstackD video is perfect. The Zen roar of the furnace. The satisfying clank of ingots. The subtle, miss if if you blink, humor. And then Dogs! Snuffly chunky good bois! What more can you ask for?

Nice, clean treasure room. Awesome job. I bet it was a monumental undertaking to get all of that moved.

From what I read, spent shells are *technically* reusable, but it also takes knowing how to make both the right powder and the primer. You're likely just better off recycling the shells in some manner, like into brass ingots for resale.

They are reusable a finite number of times. Not difficult if you have the right equipment. Decreased efficiency with each reuse. Then scrap

It's been a long time since this channel was recommended to me, it's still so beautiful since the day I stopped watching them, it's just wonderful how the whole treasure room is, I hope to see again all the videos I've missed. Using the translator, I'm sorry if you don't understand. Cheers from Chile! 🇨🇱

I was waiting all week for your video. I thought the bucket was a good idea for moving the Treasure In the meantime I was watching all your older videos. Love the socks. And The laugh the dogs are sweet. And the Crow it would be sweet to make some crow coins. Since he followed you. Just a thought.

Been following you for about a year now, and love to see the growth your channel's had! Now that you've got a new place and approaching the 1 tonne mark, have you thought about possibly taking on iron/steel smelting through the next run? Amazing video!

I have been watching for some time now, but never comment. I always enjoy seeing the melts and watching them as I lay down to sleep. The green glow from melting copper is always my favorite as well. Love the new treasure room, looks amazing and the organization of it makes it look so much better than before. I was sad to see that the total value of so much metal was far less than I would have expected, but I know it's not about the monetary value, just having that treasure is more valuable than the dollar value.

always triple check your spent casings, words from the mighty bigstack. those bullet casings could be cleaned, refitted and reloaded unless they've rusted or been busted in entirely. In situations of an unrecoverable casing, its more common for people to melt them down and recast them in a bullet mold of some kind. I've seen people do it but I've yet to do it myself
