The yellow turban peasant warriors crack me up. Their tooltip says "sword infantry" then you zoom in and it should say "farming infantry". It's also fun that both yellow turban peasant units have no shields, and bassically no armor, so you can just wreck them with archers

Maybe can consider looking at redistributing your wargear (weapons, armor, horses etc) around? Every little bit helps your commanders' effectiveness in battle. Please give poor Shi Yi a position in your government (I can't believe I am helping a fictional person get a job =.=) ... you got open assignment slots, he is a capable guy ... he just need a chance to show his skills and dedication!

Party, you should focus on making your minor settlements bigger and bigger. Especially those that give you food. They basically become small armies without you having to pay for them, grant you tradable goods, a decent precent of money, and lots and lots of food. Your major settlements are mostly for buffing your minor ones, as well as buffing your army.

Definitely! That expense on the large city was just so that I could get it walled up asap, and for the building unlock. Next step is to develop my trade port to bolster my economy and my farms to use food for trade. I'll soon need a second army too, I think!

I know how you feel when soldiers don't march in formation. I haven't played Three Kingdoms but I do play Rome 2 and I hate it when they are out of formation. My request is that you show some cinematic shots more often in battles

Well done in that first battle using your superior numbers of cavalry (and your cavalry in general) to spread them out so your main line wasn't being flooded and their archers couldn't spend time peppering you.

Wang Xiu The Righteous Hero Winter 192 After three years of tiring skirmishes against Huang Shao and after crushing the rest of the Yellow Turban Rebels ; a twisted dance made itself clear over the control of Taishan's city and trade port. Where we would strike, Huang Shao would disapear and prepare an assault somewhere else. As winter came we finally managed caught him and his tired army in the snows. Unable to move fast he turtled up on a hill we encircled him and in a matter of minute his army surrendered with the exception of his regiment of Militia of Virtue, they literally fought to the last... Defeated he turned tail and run, as i prepared my men for the final push Kong Rong decided to make peace ! Peace with a defeated enemy ? I objected right away but he saw what was yet to come. We didn't exactly see eye to eye with the Han Empire to the East and for two years we risked being encircled. he didn't want a war on two fronts. A war he couldn't win. For now we waited our army needed to replenish. He decided to focus on the welfare of the population simple but still essential services began to appear all over Taishan : mail post offices, market places, Trading ports. It was growing fast. Summer 193 I gave permission to my men to rest at the capital of Beihai while i followed Kong Rong and protected him in his endeavours in Taishan. I went to celebrate our victory one night in a tavern near the city center with three of my men, my personal guards, and it felt... quite lonely... the people in the tavern didn't seem to like us celebratring our victory. As the night grew darker i went home, tired and a bit drunk i have to admit. That's when i realised that some of the men from the tavern followed me, and they were getting closer, i took a sharp right in a narrow alley and began to run but 2 more were here waiting for me. Huang Shao's loyalists surely... even tho we were officially at peace they really seemed up to give me a good beating and there were 5 of them while i was on my own. I told them to stand down and that's when i saw a knife in one of my pursuers's hand. I drew my sword ready to fight for my life, expecting to die on the battlefield surrounded with my men i never thought one second i would die in a dark alley, drunk. i gave myself one-two good slap across the face to get my heart pumping, turned my back on the ones that were following me and charged the 2 men behind me. the first one didn't even saw my sword, as i plunged it right through his neck, the second one attacked me in the throat with a knife, i dodged it and went under his arm while i grabbed it with my hands. I was now right beside him, his armed hand under my armpits. He looked at me panicked knowing he could only wait for a punch that i gave him to the nose. Now stunned, i disarmed him and threw him on the floor by sweeping his legs. i recovered my sword drenched in blood. The man on the floor attacked me with a bootknife that luckily bounced off my armor, i retaliated with a blow to the heart. feeling the blood pumping through my ears and my head i firmly gripped my weapon knowing that there were still three more of them, waiting for the sharp pain of a knife in my back. As i slowly turned towards the rest of my opponents, realising i was still unharmed, i realised they were completely froze from what just happened. Not sure i could take on three more men at the same time i just screamed like an animal towards them as i raised my sword and they fled completely panicked. I immediatly went to see Kong Rong, he had to do something fast if he didn't want to lose Taishan or even worst, his life to an angry mob. The city for all he invested in was getting more and more dangerous and full on rebellion could be expected by the end of the year...

At 30:30 the best play is to right click him and hit backspace as your character gets close to him (inside his circle). That will lock him from moving anywhere, then you can proceed to give him a good throttling :) Either way, new sub from me! Keep it up

You definitely have to watch the yellow turban archery masters. Every time Tom from the Total War Live stream took them into battle they got minimum 400 kills. Not once did they not get an insane amount of kills.

They are, yeah, but they offer a decent enough bit of safety against ranged fire. A few weak charges at first aren't the end of the world imho. Except when I forget to turn it off ;)

Mate, you tire your cavalary running around like that even before the battle starts. Also, use more your loose formation, I mean, you re facing an army of archers and going in to face them jamed up like that. Then learn to switch back before charging. And on that second batte, ...jesus christ use your damn infantry to actually fight the enemys spearman, not the cav.

Is there the option to disable the green marker for units? I remember the need to edit some file when I disable in in RTW. I hate that green triangle just like I have the green circle from what I've see on 3K. Funnily, other games does not bother me much though except for Warhammer games I always disable to floating flag.

It's mainly on the battle side - fatigue matters more, tactics matter more, generals are not solo-units, but instead, come with bodyguards and fight like in old historical Total War games!

The battle AI is still probably one of the worst in the series... Men stay under archer fire and there is no reaction whatsoever when you move your cav only a few meters behind their army. The contrast with Shogun 2 AI is huge

@@fudgeyman99 If you pay attention closely, the AI only reshuffles its entire army when one of the cav unit hits the back of its troops. It had plenty of time to do so before the strike. In most other Total War, that's what would have happened

Enoying the slower paced, tactical gameplay of records mode. While Romance is nice, that's what Dynasty Warriors is for. It's much more pleasurable to view watching the Calvalry Charges crush into archers and then flee to regroup and repeat. Rather than just mashing units together until they break. Jackie Fish and Lionheart Tend to just use mass Archers to Target the enemy archers, and then Infantry (if archers have any ammo left) and then wonder why the Enemies Superior Infantry Units (shields) beat their Peasants with Ji or Spears. All the while just charging Calvalry into the Sides of Infantry instead of Archers --- and then Leaving them in the melee. Completely ignoring that Mounted Units should be Hit and run, and only Stick in melee to try to save weaker Ranged units or work as the Anvil for another Calvalry unit to Hammer into. They Also tend to just clump the Mounted units together, instead of forcing a split and openings in the enemy formations. Often Resulting in Pyyhric Victories. Nothing against their videos, just that they complain the battles lack Diversity or "Strategy" when they themselves also just LOL LEEEEEROOY into the AI's front lines with very little strategy on their own part once the battle begins, and Auto Duel any available Characters to the death.

I don't mean to be a pooper, but you're playing Kong Rong 'Rong. You're a trader with no trade routes! You're missing on potentionally thousands of income every turn! Rong's specialities lies with his crossbowmen and archers, and yes, you can't really utilize them cause they're expensive, but that's cause you're not playing Kong Rong to his strenghts, his trade prowess!
