In a beastman campaign, a minor beastlord faction, I was allied with, literally went from the top left of the map to the top right, never stopping. Once there, they suicided into an army. It is like they had a quest to complete, which would be an awesome AI game mechanic.

Bad news for you my friend. The number one reason why cats stop walking on floors is because of fleas... But otherwise could just be a weird cat thing. Maybe the floor is cold. Maybe she stepped on something and now distrusts it. Or maybe if she's older, might be starting to get some arthritis and the hard floor just hurts her more to walk on.

How old is your Kitty? has there been a major change in its life recently? This could be due to arthritis, joint pain, or other health issues. It might be worth taking them to the vet to rule out any underlying health issues. Another possibility is that your cats are feeling anxious or fearful about walking on the floor. or something scared it while it was on the floor and they may be associating that room/floor with the startling sound and that's why they're afraid to walk on it. 🙀
