I do wish that when you set the Crisis to trigger within the X to Y turn range, on climate crisis mode, it wouldn't trigger all the selected crises at the same time; instead, it would have a trigger turn in that range for each of them. Imagine the fun that could be had; you've just beaten back the Ultimate WAAAAGH, only to suddenly have to turn and deal with the Wild Hunt, riding out from their forests... and just as that is wrapping up, you hear rumor... Nagash has Awoken. The Tomb-Kings are stirring.

… you know that’s actually how Karl Franz dies in the end times the first time. He picks a fight with a. Zombie dragon and gets his ass kicked. Then limps his way back to altdorf and dies defending the alter of sigmar from the glottkin. Dies on the alter and basically summons the strength of sigmar so Pyrrhic victory lol

I do like the variety in endgame scenarios, but I wish there were more, for more factions. Storm of Chaos, where the Daemons, Warriors, Norscans and Beastmen team up to screw your life; the Great Maw asking for a big feast leading to the Ogres invading; the Lizardmen enacting the final step of the Great Plan; just a real big Bretonnian Crusade; the Vermintide, stuff like that. Admittedly I can't quite think of why some factions would do it, like Kislev, the Empire, or the Druchii, but hey, I'm not a CA writer, that aint my job.

CA made it clear that they’re making more over time , I believe they made an overt reference to a Vermintide. They’ll probably be linked to whatever faction is getting a DLC.

they are a good starting point but they do need some work. Most of them are just 'spawn X number of armies' and the anti player coding is absolutely ludicrous, all the events just declare war on the player and nobody else so you can watch them march across the world ignoring everyone to get to you, they only attack other factions if they were at war before the event started. While you can't really do much other than just 'spawn armies' with a 4x end game event, I would like to see them be more thematical. Say for the vampire one instead of 'these locations spawn armies' you get 'vampire territory drastically increase corruption in surrounding areas which spawn amies every so often who's strength is based on the level of that vampiric corruption', give the feeling that zombies are coming back from the dead and while at low levels its nothing that the local garrison cant fight off if left alone stronger units appear in the army. For the black pyramid instead of a random tomb king lord and a few armies you could have one uber army with buffed stats, lead by nagash (simply use a massively buffed Arkhan or Khatep as the base unless we get him as DLC) , have them be able to move rapidly and call in support from the pyramid during battles as it floats behind them

I would have loved to have seen him play as Gelt as a callback to his original Warhammer 1 series, (tied with the Vault Tec DLC for my favorite miniseries), but that would mean that this would replace the greatest finale of all time as Gelt's last appearance.

Makes you wonder which factions might actually be able to handle those settings. I'd say the best bets are for: 1: Kholek Suneater, because he already starts off as a super powerful monster and doesn't need to worry about defending settlements 2: Count Noctylus, because he starts in the middle of the fucking ocean with no real enemies nearby 3: Sisters of Twilight, because Wood Elves are good at defending territory and also the endgame scenario factions aren't very present over on Lustria

Okay, I was playing a volkmar legendary campaign with ultimate crisis on, things were going pretty good and I was prepared to face it. However, my main army gets stuck inside a settlement "allright I'll just fight it out" I think to myself. But THEN i find out the different endgame crisis factions are working TOGETHER! So I got attacked by an endgame dwarven army from Ironbrow (who was previously wiped out), REINFORCED by a sentinels tomb king endgame army from the black pyramid! It was at that point I was like, ok fuck this. Volkmar also has to deal with both black pyramid armies, dwarven armies, wild hunt armies and waagh army all at the same time, as they all spawn about 1-2 provinces from his main starting city.

Do crisises trigger if you're playing as the faction that gets them? Because if so that'd be a neat playthrough to have with Ultimate Crisis. Spend a bit building up and then firstly you get a big rush of troops but then so do multiple other factions.

they declare war on you, even if you are allied with them at the time/the same faction. In fact its the one thing they do, they all declare war on the player, not other factions, just the player and then b-line it towards wherever you are

that's the point of these systems. In every single one of the games that has one. It is supposed to give the player a challenge after they've crushed the actual base AI contenders. I mean to be realistic after the default 100 turns you will be the endgame crisis for the base AI factions - this system is in place to give you a fight

@@sedlinasera3891 Nonsense. Chaos invasion in the previous games attacked everyone. Mongol invasion in Medieval attacked everyone. Plus they've already acknowleged that the AI is far too biased against the player. It's been patched a bit, but they're still looking at fixing it properly so that the world actually works as expected instead of having everyone march across the entire map to attack one single faction.

I kinda think Jon forgot how unskaveny the empire is. Because their artillery is just as inaccurate so will do just as much damage to your lines as the enemy if fired at short range. But unlike Skaven their units aren’t expendable so it will murder your morale.

@@ternauven I genuinely think Mortars are some of the worst siege units in the game because of how inaccurate they are. They can only barely hit big infantry units, and honestly their so expensive you may as well just use that money to get 2 or 3 crossbows for the same price who are more reliable because they can arc their shots and don’t cause the massive moral shocks of blowing up your back lines during a melee.

@@seanmcloughlin5983 they are good for targeting blobs of AI ranged units once the front line is engaged or to keep routed units running longer. Still I would rather have a helblaster or helstorm if giving the option but they are higher tier. One way to get around the issue is to use the 'Sootson's Guns' as they have no friendly fire on the explosion (a direct hit still hurts the models it hits though)

It was released in a shoddy state. Lots of bugs, lackluster campaign mode, nothing special. But now they've fixed things, balanced stuff, and added Immortal Empires (what everyone really wants this game for). It's a better game now. Certainly not perfect, but better.

I am fond of Warhammer but it does seem like TW has been polluted by the lucrative licence displacing anything else. Though for me the series' mechanical changes post Medieval 2 ruined it.
