@selimcelik34948 жыл бұрын
+Will Fitzpatrick Turkish delight that is actually sweet for starters. Vegan? Really? There was no Eti (the brand) in the box. No chips. None of the classic chocolate bars like Choconat etc. Torku is like the poor mans brand in Turkey and ironically the thing he liked the most is a rip off of Eti Cin. I could go on.

You are right about dryness of Turkish snacks, but there is a reason for that. You see, Turkish people are the number one tea consumers of the world. We drink tea with almost every snack. Apparently that shows in snacks we make too. We can't possibly notice dryness since we are always drinking tea :)
@needlessToo8 жыл бұрын
+Jokeritu Also you should try fresh halva at least once in your life. Even most Turkish people don't know how epic fresh halva is, but once you try it, the regular packaged stuff tastes like dirt.

One thing that being part of this Universal Yums program for a year has taught me is that America has arguably the worst food in the world. Everything here is additive-loaded, overly processed putrescence. And even with all that, snacks taste like pond scum compared to so many others these countries have to offer.

+David Guerrero Marquez I think he's just not clean shaven. Usually he's more clean shaven and sporting a goatee. He might also have greyed some due to the stress of work and his health. As he's said, he has issues with anxiety. I'd say keep comments like that to a minimum since it is inevitable that he may eventually not look like his old self, and he's just trying to live life as best as he can. I don't think he'd want stuff like "Dude you look like shit" being said to him. It's sort of a reminder of the state of his health. Not saying you were being rude or anything.

Just gonna ask this now, am I the only one who was going into this video expecting it to be 20 minutes of TB eating a turkey sandwich? The banana wafers' banana creme might've been made with the Gros Michel variety of banana, which is still grown in places that panama disease hasn't reached (ie, not Africa or South America) and supposedly tastes a lot more like the traditional artificial banana flavor.

Tavuk Göğsü(the one that he couldn't really pronounce) actually means Chicken Breast. Pretty self explanatory in Turkish.

The reason most of the Turkish snacks being dry is that Turks favor their tea time and most of the sweets are consumed with a glass of black tea
@ahmetaksoy8628 жыл бұрын
They are dry. Because many of the Turkish Biscuits or snacks of that type are commonly served with tea or dipped in tea before eating :) Try dipping Biskrem in tea ;)
@friedmaple24428 жыл бұрын
the banana flavour on the wafers isn't necessarily "fake", its just like a banana that has gone almost extinct due to a deadly fungus, so we arnt used to it. the banana mention is called the gros michel, if you can ever find one, upon eating it you'll find it very similar and " artificial" tasting just like the banana flavoured pudding and candies. not exactly the same, but that's more or less why they taste so strange to us,its just not the normal banana flavour we are used to in the fruit.
