This really helped me a lot. Seriously, thank you. Edit: I looked it up and you're supposed to thin it to the total mix. So if you've got 3oz of the epoxy and 1.5oz of the hardener, you add 4.5oz of acetone. I really can't wait to try this. I think I'll experiment with a few different ratios.

I appreciate the product review. Sheds light on it for me.

Dale, I bought the smaller jugs to use on my project. My interpretation of the instructions are up to 50% parts acetone to the TOTAL amount of mixed resin & hardner….so if you if you mix a total amount of 4oz of resin & hardner, you can add up to 2oz of acetone.

Thank you for the instructional video! I used this on my DIY Vardo camper which has outside walls made of plywood. Mine did not look glossy at all and I did not mix it with any thinner. I guess it really soaked in the plywood. Hopefully it helps preserve the plywood. I am painting the walls once it cures.

Thank you for this video. I am trying to refurbish my boat deck. It really needs new wood, but I can’t afford that right now. I pulled the old carpeting off and discovered quite a bit of rot that needs shoring up before it is re-carpeted. Hope this does the trick! I plan on adding the acetone as you did on the second side to get more penetration. I will also add another coat.

Thanks. This stuff did wonders for me. Good luck. I'm sure it will turn out great.

What kind of paint brush do you recommend for this application? Does it matter if the bristles are real or synthetic?
@daleofalltrades2 жыл бұрын
@@lindypierce3766 I used really cheap "real" style brushes. I don't think it matters. I'd go more expensive if you want a nicer finish.

This was helpful, thanks. Do you know if this stuff is UV rated? (Like spar varnish would be).

I'm not able to fint a uv rating for the product

Would you be able to inject the acetone mix into termite hollows inside floor boards to strengthen them?
@daleofalltrades11 ай бұрын
I'm not sure. It may help. My fear with termite damage is there far more material missing vs rotten floor is soft and can be dried

@@daleofalltrades What if I used epoxy resin to inject and fill the voids after hardening?

Could work. Worth a try

I’m looking for a penetrating resin for the wood in my resin tables, would you recommend this for that? Thanks ! 😊
@daleofalltrades Жыл бұрын
It is a penetrating resin. However I'm not sure how it would hole up with daily use of bowls and plates ect. I haven't used it for that type of application yet so I'm not sure.

Uh oh no gloves with acetone?? It’s easily absorbed into the skin. Nice video.
