We were recently at Copart in Newburgh, NY and ran across this SICK Dodge Demon! Well after weeks of waiting, it finally hit the auction block!

Well now that the claim settled I can say that I was the owner of that amazing machine. Unfortunately it was stolen from a shop and driven in reverse through the service doors.. it was in valet mode. Any other questions?

85K for a wrecked Challenger....85K could get you a 1st gen R8, GTR, Ferrari Modena, Lamborghini Gallardo better yet a Viper. Unless he already has a Challenger or a Charger and Chrysler 300 and going to swap that engine over then it would makes a bit of sense, but still not worth nowhere near 85K at its state.

You don’t pay that type of money to start parting it out, but not everybody wants an outdated super car, some people just want a muscle car, same reason Demon 170’s have been selling out at $200,000+, people with that money obviously rather have that than even a newish cheap super car, and technically the Demon 170 is the fastest production car at the drag strip anyways so that’s a reason to get it alone

That’s not how it works insurance has nothing to do for it. The salvage yard owned the vehicle at this point and was bought from the insurance company they bid them right after they are totaled to yards like these

issue imo is the fees. then assume they are actually in texas. your just in about 90-95k to the door with copart fees and shipping. throw in the sales tax and your at 100k unfixed. CT they are about 140k so i've found. so you have around 40 left to fix the car which can be done but then you factor in rebuilt title. Not sure. it wasnt a slam dunk deal.I wouldve felt better at 75-80k

They were reversing, hit something with the right side rear which swung the car, resulting in the door hitting something on the left side.

The guy in the pinned comment said it was his car, and some punk tried to steal it out of a repair shop and basically did exactly what u said. He was trying to reverse out and clipped the passenger rear panel, and it must've spun and hit the other side as well up by the drivers side door. After that, the attempted getaway at low speed probably took out the front end, especially considering it was in valet mode when they got in to steal it.

The keys were left in it. It was backed through the service door, drivers door was left open and it hit the wall of the garage on the way out. There were other objects in the garage. They hit something else in the shop. It was in valet mode and found 1/4 mile down the road running. It was a rainy night

The positive note is that idiots are crashing Widebody challengers daily. You will be able to get a lot of the body panels very cheap, since it shares the same fenders and doors as any other widebody. As long as it has the trans, ecu, and engine then most of the other parts are interchangeable and a dime a dozen.

It almost seems like it fell off the car carrier, no airbags were deployed, and the damage is front and rear, door being open could have been the driver leaving the door open before they were about to get it off the carrier

No doubt it was overpaid. $65k would have been my top price. Loan rates are increasing so a number of buyers on 'easy money' are knocked out. Give it some time.

Lee, I’ve been building wrecks since I was a kid with my Pops, The drivers door is a classic case of some morons prying the door open!!! It was hitting the fender and not wanting to open but a couple inches, So some inexperienced fireman used a crowbar and pried it open. Thus creating the bend at the front, and the damage to both the inner door & below the striker on the quarter. Shame really, Because had they took 1 minute and popped it past the fender, There could’ve been minimal damage to that door. Shame really, We see it all the time, and we really need some training to start being given to them for situations like this. Anyhow, I’m 100% sure that’s what happened…

Crazy money for a car that needs 10’s of thousands in repair. But like stated. Mopar is out of the charger/challenger game next year. So, the car will definitely be worth some good money. I just don’t believe in paying that kind of number for an auction car that will always have a salvage title.

Value on that car was 166,600. I tried to buy it back they wanted 80. Was in valet mode. Dealer left keys in it at night theifs smashed the door to service center and drove in reverse out the glass service doors. Leaving the drivers door ajar it hit the concrete wall/foundation on the way out and bent the a pillar… so could not shut the door after. Loser left the car running 1/4 mile down the road. Any other questions? I was the owner
