I lost all respect for Dodge and all automotive companies when they started charging $60k-$70k for their vehicles. There is NO REASON any vehicle should cost as much as they do nowadays. It’s GREED plain and simple.
@CaptDerek79
@CaptDerek79 6 ай бұрын
The government would charge (all companies) huge fines to produce these high horsepower cars. These CEOs don't want to charge what they are. But, no choice. Example: Gov fines car companies over $30K per big diesel truck the produce. Be mad at your government... Not the car companies
@TonyTheTruckGuy

$60k-$70k for something like a Hellcat, Red eye, or a C8, z06, or something else high performance is fairly reasonable, especially compared to other brands in the same category and given the fact our dollar has lost so much value, but when the average family vehicle, as well as the constantly pushed EV's seem to be well over 50k, that's a problem.

Usually you would want someone who’s passionate about the brand and has history with it. Tim would just turn it into Dodge 2.0 which is NOT Pontiac. Like HighTechBull said, GM doesn’t let things rival the Vette, so a whole performance brand would be out of character.
@RoyalViking465

Not gonna happen... the C8 Corvette sales are on fire now and the Corvette hasn't been this popular since several decades. Like other commentators stated, GM is not going to let another sports/ pony car or performance brand cannibalize their sales. Forget the Camaro or Trans Am... what would be really cool and make the most sense is a new Chevelle muscle car now that the Challenger is discontinued. It's ripe for the taking. Make it retro/modern style like outgoing third gen Challenger. A large Chevelle two door with similar dimensions to the Challenger, useful trunk, revised Alpha platform, LT1 motors, base, SS, and ZL1 trims. Wishful thinking because that eouls absolutely put a huge dent in GM's baby the Corvette. GM you don't need another sports car you have the outstanding Corvette. You need a muscle car... bring back the Chevelle!!!

As you stated RacerX, the current problems with Dodge are due to parent company Stellantis and the EPA. Due to the EPA and CAFE, Stellantis was being charged too much in fees for the Hemis. In 2016, Ford began producing its twin turbo 3.0 V6 and began cutting down on V8 engines by 2020. That might be the thing that has gotten Stellantis to drop V8 production, even though the Mustang still offers the 5.0. Stellantis could have been smarter by continuing production of the 5.7 by reworking the engine and producing different variants, such as hybrids, HO, and supercharged. Look at how smart Chevy has gotten with the V8 in the C8 Corvette. If we look back in automotive history, let's not forget about how popular the Buick Grand National was even though it was a turbocharged V6 and didn't have the aggressive sound of a V8 like that of the C4 ZR-1 and Fox Body 5.0. So if Dodge and Stellantis are good with marketing and the Hurricane Chargers impress car magazines, hopefully the Hurricane Chargers will become successful and will pave way to a bright future for ICE-powered Mopars.

In the U.S. 100 years is a long time. In Europe, 100 miles is a long way. Euro manufacturers have no idea what it's like to live in a place where the next town is a 3 hours drive and temperatures can range from 40 below zero to 120 in six months. They're turning American brands into European cars and failing for reasons that should be completely OBVIOUS.

I absolutely love my 2022 Dodge Challenger 392 R/T Scat Pack finished in Smoke Show Gray with Red Calipers and a Sunroof. I also have the Alcantara Ruby Red Seats with red stitching all over. She's absolutely beautiful. Dealership loves my car so much and always tries getting me to trade it, lol. A couple of weeks ago, there was a 2015 Dodge Challenger Hellcat with the same miles, and my payments would be the same if I were to trade it. But I couldn't do it from the bond I now have with my car. 707 hp would've been a blast. But I just couldn't go through with it. Also, this Smoke Show Gray with the red calipers and red seats with some black just makes this car stand out. When she's all cleaned up and I have tire shine on my tires, this car will break your neck when I drive by. Smoke Show Gray, Black and Red seems to go together like peanut butter and jelly. I'm not sure how else to put it, lol. I love Mustangs a whole lot. Every time I see one and hear it, I get chills. But the Challenger is such a beautiful car. The design of it just has that look of getting up to no good, haha. I hope it lasts a long time, I just need to stop being so rough with her. Thanks, Tim! "You The Man"

I live in Southeast Michigan and work in Clinton Township, in 2014 I stopped at speedway Gas Station, early morning 2 A.M and 2 prototype Challenger hellcats pulled up and filled up with gas, both drivers walked into store bought water as I did. I walked out and I approached one of drivers and ask one of driver's for photo of car, Lady said no sorry no photo, but I walked by car as She open door and had seen this piece of equipment with lots of wires plugged into equipment took up whole passenger seat, other driver came out got in his car both took off very fast down road. And got into my 2007 P.T. Cruiser and drove home really excited what I had seen (Hgh Mopar fan all my life). One thing nobody seems to think about or talk about, is the discontinuation of the Dodge dart. It was a nice little car, pretty sporty. If kept alive, the "emissions" thing wouldn't have been a thing. As good of a CEO as Marchionne was by leaving Dodge alone to do their thing, that was one big mistake he made. And it wasn't because it wasn't selling. It was because there wasn't enough profit in it, versus trucks and SUV's. And, even though there are these stupid EPA rules and the carbon credit sham handout to tesla, Dodge could STILL produce the hemi and/or other V8's. It's the dumb goon at the top, Carlos Tavares, who won't allow it and who is pushing this electric trash. That should NEVER be forgotten. I doubt "stellantis" will be a big conglomerate much longer. And I hope they aren't. Nothing short of absolute bankruptcy and destruction of the company will be good enough, in my opinion. With, of course, our brands CDJR, back to a sensible company, preferably here in the states.

I'm not really sure how a twin turbocharged 6 cylinder is going to make less emissions than a similar sized V8. If you're making 550 horsepower you have to burn a certain amount of gas to do that and if you burn that amount of gas you will make a certain amount of emissions especially the CO2 part

Stellantis will have to change the slogan to "Imported TO Detroit," as our CEO Tavares continues to push these brands out of the US for cheaper and cheaper backs and brains. A race to the bottom that was forced to play from our governments, but now fully embraced by Tavares. That is probably one of the things that Tim just couldn't get behind. The numbers are not looking good for alot of manufacturers now. Meanwhile, Tavares is totally cool with selling China's Leapmotor cars to anyone and everyone to make another buck, but at what cost in the long run? Hopefully, Tim goes on to do more specialized stuff like Shelby and Roush did. Work in the spaces you enjoy playing in, and the end result is always better.
