Everyone is throwing the same comment out there about this car being in another crash. Sheet metal panels are never affecting the safety of a vehicle. All of those panels could be removed as far as a collision is concerned. The main frame rail that he replaced the end of is what would really stop a rear ending from coming near people in the back seat. His work was excellent (glad to see a lot of those comments too) and did not make this car more risky if it is involved in another crash. Think about sheet metal and plastic panels as skin of a car it looks good and keeps small unwanted things out. The skeleton is not pretty but provides all the structure.

This car is a unibody design, the entire body of the car including outer skin and all the sheet metal panels he replaced are load-bearing and an integral part of the crash structure. It's not like the old body-on-frame construction which is what you're thinking of, which is pretty much only used for trucks and some large SUVs

Металл (деталь) после аварии потерял свои свойства:микротрещины,нарушена геометрия,образовались новые точки напряжения/натяжения...это означает,что при аварии,даже при менее серьёзной,тем кто будет в салоне этого авто однозначно прийдётся туго (в буквальном смысле этого слова).Это не автомобиль,а смертный приговор с колёсами и мотором.Тех,кто такое делает,нужно отправлять в тюрьму на доооолгий срок изучать сопромат и рассмотривать незаблюреные фото аварий.

That's not true. Standards in the auto body industry are to restore to original integrity or better. Most repairs are in fact stronger than their original parts because they are reinforced with stronger materials behind them, along with the bolts and rivets, welds and any filler compounds used. All depends on what shop you go to as well. If you want something cheap, then you're going to get the same quality of parts and work.

Alors juste 2 choses: 1- Ce n'est pas de la mécanique, mais bien de la carrosserie. 2- Même si le travail accompli est exemplaire, il n'en demeure pas moins que cette voiture est suffisamment accidentée pour nécessiter un passage au banc de contrôle, afin de vérifier la conformité de l'état des soubassements du véhicule. Sans cela, rien ne peut garantir que l'assiette du véhicule est toujours au normes et donc, qu'elle puisse être considérée comme roulante par l'assurance. Si tel est malheureusement le cas: - Le comportement du véhicule peut en être modifié et donc créer une usure prématurée, due à l'augmentation des contraintes sur tout ou partie du châssis du véhicule. - Rien ne garanti que le véhicule se déformera, ni ne résistera comme ce pourquoi il est prévu en temps normal (ce qui risque d'aggraver les conséquences, en cas de nouvelle accident pour les occupants du véhicule). - Il n'y aura pas d'indemnisation en cas de nouvelle accident vu que la réparation n'a pas été contrôlée et certifiée par une expertise en bonne et due forme. - Pire encore: Si un accident grave impliquant des dommages corporels pour les tiers et ceux empruntant le véhicule se produit, celui qui a fait la réparation risque de graves poursuites judiciaires, due à l'absence de certification du contrôle du véhicule par une expertise agréé par l'assurance. En conclusion: c'est vraiment jouer avec le feu et un risque inconsidérables pour les passagers, ainsi que pour les autres usagers de la route.

Pues si, yo no soy perito pero llevo muchos años en la reparación de automóviles, y es cierto, en caso de verse modificada la estructura del vehículo, también y al mismo tiempo, se ven alteradas las condiciones resistivas y del seguridad del mismo , y por más bien que se realice el trabajo de reparación, si no se realiza el mismo en un centro autorizado, y en caso de accidente grave con heridos y/o fallecidos, éste puede ser considerado por un tribunal como daño oculto que afecta a la seguridad no declarado. No solo afecta a la no indemnización por parte de la aseguradora, sino que también tiene consecuencias penales para el que ha realizado la reparación. Todo esto está recogido en las condiciones generales de todas las compañías de seguro y organizaciones de consumidores y usuarios, de los países civilizados, claro.

Je me suis fait la même réflexion. Du travail de carrosserie exemplaire mais au vu des dégâts (pour moi, elle est morte) : quid du châssis plié? de la nome sécurité pour le rafistolage de l'habitacle avec une soudure (capacité de déformation au crash test certainement pas homologuée par rapport au modèle sorti d'usine). Et quid des air bag latéraux ? et qui de bcp de choses en fait. Sans parler du coût de la réparation qui en heures et pièces a dû couter un rein. Bref un expert automobile visite ça et je pense qu'il tombe évanoui. On voit aussi des gros soucis au niveau des raccord du toit panoramique. Et il va revendre ça comme si de rien n'était?

Greay way to repair a car, back in 1990! (But even then we used new guaranteed panels!) On a modern car with ultra high strength low alloy materials, this is horrific to watch, this car is now a fatality waiting to happen should it be in another crash 😬🤦🏼‍♂️

I am a certified Mercedes collision tech. This video scares me. That car is a death trap in the next wreck. Benz had procedures for repairs. He did not follow any of them.

I would never dare to drive around in that car. After such a damage the frame and all the safety sections of controlled-collapse are impossible to restore to an as-new efficiency. It may look as good as new, but it’s a coffin on wheels in case of any future accident.

Я готов с тобой поспорить, гробы на колесах, это то что обычно пемонтируют армяне в россии, а на видео он всё сделал по заводскому, он не отрезал заднюю часть, как это многие делают, он все собрал детально, при том что производители автомобилей допускают кузовной ремонт и поставляют запчасти на рынок, в каталоге запчастей можно отдельно найти и лонжероны и пороги и т.д.

В нынешних реалиях, ввезёное в РФ через третью страну поддержанное авто из ЕС автоматически будет выбракованно, если хотя бы тест толщиметром не пройдёт, а осмотр на подъёмнике тут не оставит никаких шансов - поэтому оно будет выбракованно ещё до границы РФ, кому охота рисковать, когда есть ОАЭ.

seen many of these amazing videos, but always wondered... they are meticulous about rust proofing the visible surfaces after welding, but the back sides are usually inaccessible for that. So maybe it will rust out from behind much sooner than if never crashed.

I would say that about 20%-30% of FSBO vehicles on Facebook marketplace are vehicles being sold by guys who buy totaled cars and then reconstruct them to flip for profit. Always look at the other vehicles a person is selling. If they are selling 15 other vehicles, it is not for sale by owner, and the odds that the vehicle you’re looking at is reconstructed is very high.
