Question: Why didn't you take an airplane to your location, instead? Fun Fact: Planes go about 860 km/h and they go faster than cars and you don't have to deal with lots of traffic. Another Fun Fact is: "You can still see the eclipse on a plane as well."

That 99.6% isn't totality! The actual path of totality, in the US, started in TX. It went north and east, but to the west of the border of both western TN and KY. It then continued in its northern/eastern path, and right over Erie County PA, where I moved from in Oct. '23. Due to the actual path of totality, the west coast got nothing. My area especially saw nothing as I moved to central coastal OR. A better camera would capture better video of an eclipse. In this video, the brightness of the sun makes the moon barely noticeable, with darkness all around. A still picture would probably provide a better result.
