3:27 I believe the Goku we are getting is how adult Goku would react in this situation regardless of his size as written by Toriyama. Toriyama knows how to capture Goku’s purified innocence. He doesn’t take things seriously until it needs to become serious. Toyotaro and the others haven’t quite gotten that yet.

I'm actually surprised how much I like Daima. I laughed hard at the third minute when they are talking about where to go and the Nyoi Bo extended in Goku's hand, hitting the ceiling of the ship and then cut away 😂 also with Goku's personality I think he is just enjoying being a kid again. He still has his adult mind and tactical thinking, just in a kid body. And that is fun. I would act the same 😅

Something that’s interesting, that I particularly like, is that Glorio isn’t super suprised about Goku’s power. Of course, Goku isn’t able to use his full power, but I’m kinda glad Glorio is staying so nonchalant. Compare that to Shin, who started off kinda like Glorio with a mystery surrounding him, and quickly turned into a kind of bumbling idiot who was super suprised about Goku’s strength. It’s just a breath of fresh air for someone on Goku’s side to not be completely blindsided by his strength

I mean Glorio learned about it his strength before meeting them and defeating Majin Buu is a big deal. Shin was meeting them for the first time so I get why he couldn't believe what he was seeing

Ngl with daima it does feel sort of like a one and done imo. Like if they decide to carry it on past season 1 fair enough I don't want them to do it almost just for the sake of it if that makes sense though. Tbh I really, really want to see what they do next with super, if they do decide to continue with that anime wise that is. Also not just room of spirit and time, but vegeta training in 10x gravity or whatever. Having to literally fight the air just to fight so to speak I guess.

I do think Goku is very intentionally being written as his kid self. From what I've seen of Daima so far it seems like Toriyama really wanted to return to that fun wanderlust adventure of early dragon ball that sort of disappeared by its later chapters. But I almost feel like it's less regressing goku back to being a kid and more that we haven't gotten to see Goku in this sort of scenario in a long time. Just a fun goofy adventure with some stakes. Not like a world ending threat

I always noticed 'stiffnes' in animation tho. Kinda suprised Mark didn't. I hated stiff hairs and gi when they're moving or transforming. Super really dropped bar hard in case of animation and I don't speak only about movies recap sagas.

For the most part I think Goku is being characterized well. I could see Goku saying Warp-sama looks like a goldfish, I don't know if he would keep on doing it though. That felt more of the Super seeping in. Though that's the only scene that took me out. Goku has always been a bit naïve, but he is normally respectful too.

I’d say that started moreso in Battle of Gods, like when Beerus shows up, but looking back, Goku is pretty irreverent until King Kai makes him be more respectful towards Beerus. I guess the only real time he had respect for a deity was probably King Yemma and Supreme Kai. He was pretty goofy while refusing Kami’s offer to be God of Earth, and he was pretty irreverent to King Kai (even getting him and his planet blown up!). Even despite his initial respect toward Supreme Kai, he even threatened to blast the hell out of Supreme Kai, and also blasted Elder Kai right in the face to test his power! In total this isn’t so out of line for his character,

@@_mango_ I normally count BoG as the start of Super even though it is a DBZ movie. It is the start of that era. I'd say he at least starts out more respectful with most important beings early on. He definitely gets more relaxed the more he spends time with them though. I don't know, it feels like there is more of a balance in the older material than the newer material.
