One ridiculous detail I'm honestly surprised I caught without even paying much attention: The BG artist kinda over-drew the recording studio interiors, so whereas they should just have regular soundproofing in them, it ends up looking like a full-blown anechonic chamber, which in laymans terms is a room outfitted with an extra-special extreme kind of soundproofing that basically eliminates ALL REVERB, to the point where you can literally pop a balloon inside of it and the expected "BANG!!!!" is replaced with a tiny little "b00p!" noise, like all you're hearing is the pin touching the latex. There is NO REASON to have this in a regular recording studio, just for making music instead of scientific experimentation and research related to sound, unless your goal is to make whatever/whoever you're recording sound, quite literally, as weak and lifeless as scientifically possible...

So the show is more French than Canadian - the animation studio and all of the major writers were French and in France. Basically everything weird about the high school parts of the show stems from the fact that it's set in an American high school, but created by a bunch of Europeans whose only exposure to American high school life comes from movies and other tv shows. This also influences the characterization of the main trio a lot, since they were written more as stereotypical American teens than, you know, actual characters. The English dub fixes a little bit of that last part but there's only so much they could do while sticking to the same story beats.

I loved this show. _Freaky Circus, Much?_ was the episode that legit made me look at Jerry in a different light. At the beginning of the episode, a camera crew for a reality show that Clover’s dying to be on was filming IN THEIR HOUSE. First, the camera man bursts into Alex’s room, unannounced & starts filming her while she was sleeping & like zoomed in on her foot. She woke up & freaked out. Then my poor Sam got the worst of it when she was taking a shower. She’s singing & suddenly looks up, noticing a microphone hovering over the shower & suddenly hears him, saying, “Just pretend the camera’s aren’t here, honey.” She freaks out & kicks his ass in which I don’t blame her because 1, that’s an invasion of privacy & 2, that man’s a fucking creep. Why in the hell would you film a teenager taking a shower?! & 3, Why did Clover just let them come in & roam inside their house on their own free will? Pissed, Sam & Alex confront Clover over this. & then they get WOOHPed. While they are arguing, Jerry himself has a camera in his hand & when Sam says, “I should be so lucky! Hello, wrapped in a towel, here!” He says, “Oh my.” & zooms in on her before sending them all to get changed in their spy suits. I love Jerry, but that moment will always be a thumbs down for me, just NO.

Martin Mystery was the precursor to this series. Martin Mystery was a show about cryptid and paranormal plots mainly centered on appealing to boys of the early to mid 2000's. Totally spies captured the target demographic of former named show mainly due to the color pallet and eccentrity. I miss Martin Mystery but it was pretty limited in scope compared to what totally spies offered.

I prefer martin Mystery who's made by the same studio. Why? Here's a short list: - The heroes knowed their priorities. In most of the girls's missions, they are ALWAYS distracted by shopping or boys in each episodes of every seasons. Sure Martin would flirt with pretty girls BUT he will rescue them and capture the monster plus it won't distracted him to allow his ennemy to capture him. Also, i find Martin and his friends much more likable than Clover and the others. Sam is just the smart girl, Alex likes sports and Clover likes shopping as well as boys. They aren't very interresting :S Martin is brave, creative, funny, childish, sensitive when it's about his father. He has a great personality, i always have a good time following his adventures. Can't say the same for the Spies. - There's no weird fetishes in MM. Martin was never turned into a sexy animal or dripped in soya sauce (It happened in an episode of season 6.) There was no episode when he became fat or too skinny. The show never embarassed me. - The villains have REAL MOTIVATIONS and they are differents. For exemple; the indian guy who turned into a wolf to protect his territory, the creepy teddybear who manipultes his owner, the evil dwarf who plays means pranks on humans (Basically the Grinch if he was less funny and likable.) The students who was changed into a moth and took revenge on his teacher, the mutant in Internet who took control of a teenager, the Shadow monster who wanted to destroy huminity. Each of them have unique designs, cool powers and motivations who makes sense. Each of them are well developped and interresting. Most of the villains in TS wants to control the world or have more customers by brain-washing them. Not very original if you asked me. I also prefers Team galaxy for his humor, likable characters, cute robot, good animation and fun battles. MM is number one and TG is number two!
