I especially like this one as my Dad was in the SeaBees. He was stationed on Saipan. He carved a good sized Sea Bee emblem out of ammunition crates while there. Thanks for sharing this restore. Great job.

Another very fine restoration! I'm watching the 1944 film "The Fighting Seabees" tonight....especially the part where John Wayne uses the tractor to rip open the fuel tanks at the top of the hill to destroy the enemy. I salute you and your craftsmanship.

Many memories of my kid-days. One Armed Forces day my class put on a show to celebrate the military around '55 the 10th anniversary. There is a song for each branch, we (my class) did the actual "C-B" song. "We're the Sea-Bees of the Navy" The name comes from "Construction Battalion". As an aside, three of my uncles were Marines in the entire Pacific Theater and one got a Silver Star on Iwo Jima driving a dozer. He wasn't a Sea-Bee just enlisted Marine. What he did was lead a bunch of other Marines up the mountain using the dozer for cover. He dropped the blade and sealed the cave (one of them) that the enemy combatants were in. All three uncles went through the entire war without harm, two went on to survive Korea.

That Lab Metal is tough stuff. I said the heck with that a long time ago. A good heavy coat of hot flocked KL primer does great and is 100x easier to sand...Excellent job. I enjoyed your video.

I may be wrong but I think the exhaust pipe is turned in the wrong direction. But it’s extremely well done. God bless you.

Very nice customrestoration. I like the military theme! The decal in the shovel maybe where better placed near the topedge of the backwall. So it was better protected from the gravel that will be transported in.
