I saw you mention this game in one of your 'list of best solo games' vids & then searched your channel for the playthrough of it. In the discovery process, I realized you have only been doing this channel for little more than a year. Your videos are so well done I'm going to work my way through as many as I can. The content is so well produced & your manner is so engaging that I find myself watching through to the end, despite the fact that some of the games covered (TWOM for one) clearly are not for me!

That is such a nice comment Andrew, thank you. I really love hearing that you find my videos interesting and/or entertaining even if you aren't interested in owning the game. I am trying to put a focus on "play" when so much board game content seems to only focus on "purchase decisions." I'm hoping my videos can be useful whether someone is interested in owning the game, or already owns the game and is interested in learning rules, or someone just wants to be entertained by seeing a game played, watching the strategy and story unfold. My channel is definitely still a major work in progress, but your comment really makes me feel like I'm on the right track, which makes me happy. Thanks again for watching and supporting my work Andrew. Hope you find more video to enjoy on the channel!

I love how you found El Dorado through a faulty rope bridge. It fits so well narratively.

This game always has a wonderful narrative, especially for a simple card game. The art certainly helps. Thanks for watching!

That was a great playthrough and a great win! This is a really good game but it can be tough! Just to say that at the end there, you didn't need to swap the monkey and rope bridge cards in order to win. You could just pick the rope bridge's middle red box. Icons are resolved in order, so you'd resolve the advance icon first. That would mean you'd reach step 9 and immediately win the game; you wouldn't then resolve the icon that kills an explorer. So on that last morning you could have just swapped the panther and rope bridge and then boom you'd win! But a great win nonetheless!

Ahh, I see what you mean. That would have been easier! We took the scenic route I guess. Thanks for commenting and watching. Very nice to hear you found the playthrough entertaining.

He actually could have won before that at 9:50 with the abandoned camp and ruins cards. Take the compass instead of the bullets and he would have been able to do both blue options on the ruins card, gaining the two steps he needed to win.

Great playthrough, thanks. I'm thinking of getting the game. Not sure I can think so clearly and so far ahead but guess that's something that comes with playing it more and more. Thanks again.

Thanks, Donny! I really love this one. It can be very hard and thinky but you definitely get better at it with experience. I've been playing for years and I still come back to it often. Highly recommend. Thanks so much for watching my video!

Awesome. Your choice to try to save everyone was very fun, well done. With me they do not have so much consideration from my part...

Ha, I try to be a good leader. Got lucky that time. It doesn't always work out so good on this channel. :) Thanks for watching!

If you haven't already, definitely pick up David Grann's superb book, "The Lost City of Z." In his designer notes, Peer Sylvester credits the book as his inspiration for creating the game.

I didn't realize that. Thanks for letting me know. I would like to check that out. Sounds very interesting. Thanks, TarotMage!

Really awesome playthrough! I have this game and I love it, but haven't able to win it yet. Well done in taking care of all of your characters!

I'm glad you enjoyed the playthrough! Yeah, I got pretty fortunate in this play. It can be brutal depending on how the cards flop. Thanks for checking out the channel!

Part two after 3 weeks?! Dude...this is not cool. Don't get me wrong you did a great job with the playthrough but posting the second part after 3 weeks....not cool.

Actually, they were about a year apart. Really really not cool! I've had a few false starts trying to get this channel going, but we are up and running now. I'm glad you enjoyed the playthrough.
