I can not name a single athlete with such endurance and SPEED and consistency, despite the horrible injuries he sustained. Keninesa is nothing but Lion, as Ethiopians like to name some one with greatest achievement. He is number one in medal collections both in individual and national representation. A famous Ethiopian Singer, Teddy Afro have dedicated a song to him " Ambesa Q/Kenenisa" / "Kenenisa The Lion" . Thank you TRP, you are doing great! P.S Lion have special attachment with Ethiopian society. The Black Manned Lion is indigenous and Native to Ethiopia. There was a time when lions were treated like pets. Back in imperial times one can see a number of lion statues in Addis Ababa. Still can see few of them. There is even Lion Bus (the oldest in the continent i guess, it dates 80 years since its service to the public) , Black Lion Hospital, Lion Shoe, Lion Bank etc. 1 birr and other coins of Ethiopian currency have lion minted on side of them.

@@benanastasoff8980 where is confirmed that the shoe was a normal standard shoe and not special prepared
@benanastasoff89804 жыл бұрын
@@Buddhi011 that’s the world Athletics rule, so if prepared with a design not available to the public, the shoe is illegal. There are also plenty of up close camera shots of it and it looks exactly like the standard dragonfly. Sure, Bekele likely would have won if they were head to head right now with the same technology. But I still don’t think it’s fair to dismiss a great performance like Cheptegei’s just because the technology is better 16 years later. Bekele used the same technology in the marathon and he isn’t complaining about how his world record was better. He simply congratulated Cheptegei for his breakthrough performance. Even if there was a carbon plate in the shoe though, it would have been perfectly fair as the foam and the plate don’t give the runner any energy they aren’t putting in. The energy is already there, just accessible because the shoe isn’t wasting so much of it

This record will never be broken. There are three reasons why: 1. Bekele is the G.O.A.T. virtually untouchable 2. There used to be two events for the seniors. The long course (12km) and the short course (4km). But now there's only the long course that's a part of the senior competition. 3. The XC WC is not held every year, as it was when Bekele was in his prime. Now it is every second year.

That whole thing was staged for Cheptegei. They made sure to break the records with technological help. Those wavelights are like robot pacers and the kangaroo shoes are massive help as well. It may not look like much but its all about tiny margins at this level. The men and women's 10000m and 5000m stood for so long I guess haha. No one could reach them so they had to do this robbery The Ugandans splits were metronomic. Very much on point. That is because a robot was pacing him on the side of the track. You can clearly see the light illuminating the inside of the track so of course he can see them. Massive cheating.
