This video will show you how to remove the FRONT AND REAR Door Card Panels from your Audi A4, S4 or RS4 (B6 and B7) 2001-2008.
This is essential if you wish to upgrade your door speakers, need to replace your main window switch etc.

Great video! Love the detail. For those with a 2009-2012 Audi A4 a few differences. 1). The top trim piece pops off from the other side. That is you pop out the outside edge first. 2). there are 3 screws. Two behind the trim and one behind the door lock switch. The bottom of the armrest pops off to expose it. I lucked out, I suppose one can say,. Mine had obviously been removed before so I didn't need to mess with the bottom screw. Although it was put back rather shoddily. Not all the door clips were there so I need to replace some of those. If you need more specifics on the differences to the 2009-2012 Audi shoot me a message.

I have a 2002 audi a4 B6, i can't open the driver side door , inside nor outside. the funny thing is, it work off and on. some time the handle wouldn't open on the first pull but on the second pull , it opens up. How are you suppose to get that center screw (pass side) out of the hole? Better yet, how are you suppose to re-install that screw? Looks almost impossible.

Hey there You just unscrew it. It does not matter too much if it does not come out of the hole when undoing (as long as it's fully unfone) as it will just fall to the floor when you remove the door card. Using a magnetic screwdriver helps a LOT! Especially when reinstalling the screw. Shine a torch up in the hole if you are having issues locating the screw head. Follow the video carefully - you'll get it :-)

I have a (German market ) A4 Cabrio B6 2004. The door trims are different than shown in this clip: 6 pins instead of 4, and the hook at the end is the other way around. I broke it pulling in the wrong direction.

Hi there. I would like to ask is it possible to switch the door panels from the right side vehicle (UK) to the left side vehichle EU? Is it possible to change the door handles from passenger side to the drivers side? I hope you understood my question :) I have door panels from vehicle like in this video and I would like to put them in to my car. But then I need to swap the door handles. Is it possible to do so?

Hmmm. Interesting question! You can remove the whole of the internal plastic handle section from the door card, so you could use those from your old door cards (EU) and put them on to the UK doorcards so that the switches are around the right way (i.e. main window and mirror switches change from right side to left side). But you also have extra controls inside the driver doorcard for towing mode (stop alarm going off if being towed/moved) etc. So that will be harder because you won't be able to swap the sides easily. These are located in the drivers card, in the lower part where you put items to store, towards the rear in that section. So might not be easy, but I would expect it is possible. That's off the top of my head though without going too deep into it. There may be others complications I have not considered yet. Best of luck with it! Hey there. If the gas release is also on the drivers door along with windows and boot release then most likely they are all on one switch (I'm not sure without checking, and I don't do too much with Passat's TBH). I'd personally try replacing that switch first if it is all one unit. If that does not solve it, then move on to next in the chain, which would be the door card loom, then to what that loom attaches to (likely window motor). You should find it quite quickly. Hey there. Hard to say as I'm using a little guesswork as I don't do too much work on Passat's. But assuming it is all on one switch (?) then it's strange that one would stop working before the other. Depending upon how they are mounted (again I don't recall 100% for the Passat offhand) the switch can either be removed by removing the doorcard, or maybe if you're lucky without removing it. You'd need to check... You can buy a switch on eBay for sure. Used ones should be sensible money. Best of luck!

how do you get the tweeter cover off. Do you have to remove the whole door panel or can you pop off the grill?

To clarify for people who are unsure, there are actually two speaker grilles on a door card. The one at the bottom is where the main speaker is located. There is a second small one at the top in the corner, behind which is the tweeter. It's a good question. Going from memory (so I may be wrong) yes they are almost definitely removable as I popped one out by mistake a while ago. However, pretty sure they have to be popped up (locking tabs) from the inside. I don't think (from memory!) they can be removed externally (i.e. without removing the door card).

Hey there! So neither is working on the drivers side, neither front nor rear? If so, check the balance setting first on the stereo itself. Unlikely that both have gone faulty together. More likely is stereo setting, or after that maybe power supply issue. My 2007 A4 does not have the pop-off middle panel and many of the screws are torx.

Hey there! That's interesting... What's your exact model? Is it the drivers door you are working on? Only the drivers door has the pop out panel.

Ah OK. This is the passenger door. I had to pop out the power-window panel and there were screws under there. This was also the convertible (2007 - B7). The power window panel is a bit tricky too.

Ah, that explains it :-) Yes, the convertible one is completely different, as you say you need to remove the window switch first etc. BUt hope the video was of some help to you. Thanks again!

Hmmm. Maybe because 2001 was the changeover from the earlier B5 to the newer B6 model (so 2001 can be either a late B5 or early B6). This video is specifically for the B6 and B7 platforms.
