I totally get the tote thing. For commuting, a busy lifestyle, carrying your lunch, lap top, shoes, etc., all of which I do but I just can't make them work for me because they always drag my shoulder and kill my back. I've ended up with a back pack, and a mini top handle bag in my hand. I know, you may think a back pack isn't stylish for a working woman, but I see them more and more on all kinds of girls and women of all styles. I like carrying the top handle mini bag with the back pack, because I can keep my essentials, wallet, keys and phone in my mini at my fingertips, and the rest in the back pack, safe and better for my shoulders. I wonder if you would ever consider a back pack, they are everywhere, all the luxe designers have them now and are becoming more and more popular? If you do, let us know. On the other hand, a messenger bag also is a good move. It distributes weight evenly. I prefer a roomy messenger bag for my 15 inch notebook!

Now I have a generic, but you might look into Louis Vuitton if you want something more stylish... Unfortunately the big brands don't focus on messenger bags!

I prefer a messenger bag too. Pros: Distributes weight better so it doesn't kill your back and shoulder. Your stuff is much easier to access than in a backpack. Safer on crowded buses and subway because it's closed with a flap. Open totes are really vulnerable to pickpockets. Also safer from purse snatchers because it's most secure on your body and someone can't just grab it and run without dragging you with it. Cons: the strap across your chest totally ruins the look of your outfit, and gets tangled in any long necklaces or scarves.

c sikomas I've been thinking about getting a backpack just so I don't have to carry 2 bags to bring everything I need for work but hesitant. The stylish back packs are quite small so defeats the purpose of just having 1 bag. Which backpack do you have?

I have the same Saint Laurent tote (same color as yours), yes the inside does get marks but I love it haha I personally picked the bag because I want something a bit more subtle and laid back but still look elegant and classy. The inside untreated leather is what makes it simple and laid back to me. And the color goes with almost everything ❤️❤️ :) I have had it for about 3 months now I think (I used it everyday for work). the only thing I dont like about it is the button, it keeps on unhooked and hooked when I walk, if that makes senses LOL

I hate that they discontinued the Perry. I've been carrying mine daily for work for over a year and a half as my work tote and it still looks new! I have the light gray/taupe shade with the purple lining. It's beautiful and so lightweight and holds a ton! Loved the video!

The Perry Tote is now available at the Tory Burch outlets. I was so excited when I saw it. They had a nice selection. Colors included black, orange, hot pink and a nude color. I chose the black. It was a great price too.

Great comparison video! They are in the same price range and LV made of canvas plus the shouting logo all over the bag. I’m a fan of LV but I don’t like anyone to know that I wear LV. Also, better buy a leather bag of other brand or the LV tote epi but again the price. It serves the same purpose anyhow.

I bought the Tory Burch Perry Tote in Burgundy in June and I cannot change out of this bag. It is the best. I have the Lv Neverfull MM DE and I like the Perry Tote better, a brilliant bag and definitely worth the money, highly recommend it :)

I have the YSL tote in black and the inside doesn't show much wear if any (I've had mine for over a year). I think it might just be because of the particular colour that you have. Great video as always :)

Hi Amie, try jewellery cleaning cloth to clean the tarnished metal. I used a cleaning cloth from Pandora, and it worked for for my tarnished Speedy B 25 shoulder strap hardware. Good luck !

Totally agree with you on the Perry tote! Great bag to take to work! If anyone is living in the UK I would totally recommend you visit the Tory Burch store at Bicester Village near Oxford, I was very pleased to have bought a navy blue Perry Tote for about half its original price a few weeks ago when I went (btw Thanks Amie for the recommendation!!) :)

What a great review. I'm so happy to hear what you had to say about the SL tote. I've been considering it, but I think the interior seams rather cheaply made for the money. I'm in the US and feel as though $995 is too much for this. I'm not usually one to complain about cost, but it doesn't seem worth it on this item. I do have their Canvas Beach Tote (which I got from Selfridges for only about $600), which I love and feel as though the cost is totally justified.

Maybe the YSL interior damage is specific to the color you have? I got one in black in May and have used it nearly every day since with no marks on the interior! I rarely carry my work laptop but I have traveled 3 times with it and it's held up great!

Great review 😊👍 I've got handbag liners in my totes (& one handbag), their online by quite a few different sellers & they're great giving quite a few pockets inside to hold all your essentials & ensuring no make-up, pen ink transfer etc. I can definitely recommend them.

Having seen the Perry tote on you many times I've really fallen inlove with it. That light blue colour is absolute perfection, and I've wanted a light blue bag for quite a while now, it's a shame that it was limited. However, I never use tote bags! I wish I did, but I rarely have a need to carry so many things it would be worth it. If I ever get a job that requires me to bring my computer, or if I go back to school, it will the first thing I get!

Be careful with the embossed logo on the YSL tote... i've had this bag in black for 10 months now and the edges of the logo have worn off from being rubbed against my clothes etc. Very disappointing for the price! However it's still a gorgeous bag and just wanted to let you know so it might not happen to you :)

Hello, First i'm a huge fan of your Channel. But Something disturbed in this review about difference of prices. TB fabrics are made in China whereas Saint Laurent's are made in Italy. The difference of price is here. And TB has a bigger commercial marge in comparison of level of salaries in China to Italy or France.

Hi, I also have the Saint Laurent tote (in a darker tan colour) but I have not experienced the same issue with internal markings. I have had it for 6 months and there are no marks. Perhaps they have changed the material or yours has a fault?

Thanks for the video! I have the same saint laurent bag but in different color. I have been using it as work bag for 7-8months now. The corners have already started to crack and chip off, and also the lining of the handle is coming off and already coming off.... Have you noticed anything like this or is it just me..? I carry my laptop in this bag almost every day and maybe this is whats making the bottom corners of the bag to crack more . i bought this bag thinking it'd be durable and doesn't need much 'babying' but maybe i was wrong... i might consider buying the goyard tote hmm :(
