How exactly is Reagan exceptionably "honorable" here? Were you expecting him to cheat? If you mean politically, on the other hand, it's a documented fact that you are simply dead wrong. As a statesman and as a propagandist (starting with traveling GE spokesman, contemporary with this television appearance), Reagan was manifestly anything BUT honorable.

Walter Cassel (1910-2000) was an American operatic baritone and actor. He began his career singing on the radio during the mid-1930s and appeared in a couple of Hollywood musical films in the late 1930s. He made his first stage appearances in a handful of Broadway productions during the late 1930s and early 1940s before moving to opera.

I never doubted that #3 was the real singer after his frank admission of ignorance about Reagan's insipid "gusset" question. You need to remember that the non-impostor is only obligated to answer truthfully; he's not obligated to try to convince you in his favor--it's in his interest, in fact, to appear an impostor. I was right about the 4-H club member as well. I didn't even try to guess the triplet because the answer hinged entirely on private information (meeting the panelists or their spouses).

Just as there was a German version of "What's My Line?", there is also one of "To Tell the Truth": "Sag die Wahrheit!" (Tell theTruth!). The first contestants in the link below all claim to be a "mask designer" for the movies. (Actually, it would be more accurate to say that he's a make-up artist, since he does more than just design masks.) And once again, I think it's very "Teutonic," in that there is an educational slant to it: The real mask designer shows how he can make one of the panelists' hands hairy, as one would do for a werewolf movie. Even if you can't understand the language, this part of it is kind of interesting to see: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gKC6f2eYqr6WhaM

My guess for the first is #2, but I'm not confident. I just wish the panel had asked them to sing a little. That would give me a better idea of their vocal range. A Baritone singer is lower than a Tenor but higher than a Bass, when referring to vocal range. #3 looks like a Klingon! (I was wrong, lol) I laughed at the 25min/lb wisecrack! (I'm guessing #1. The others looked like they were trying to memorize stuff during the affidavit reading. And, though #3 looks like a farm girl, those competitions usually seem to pick more "conservative" type girls with longer haircuts.) ... And I was wrong again. Forgot to update before they showed the real one from the triplets; I figured it was either #1 or #2, based on appearance, and #3 sounded different somehow.

Now that we know more information on cigarettes it makes me a little upset. But giving away cigarettes it's something that is a prize to people

19:57 "was Sally Ann Howes there?" That sounds like a loaded question to me.

Not necessarily. She'd taken over the role of Eliza in MFL earlier that year, and she was well known at the time.

Perhaps I missed something. Did the winners receive $1000 worth of Geritol?

+tommy k Hi. This question is asked often. Perhaps it is the way it is explained. Whomever the sponsor is provides the money amount. The total amount of money that is earned is then *split* amongst the three panelists. And *one thousand dollars* in the 50/60's was worth a *lot* of money!! There is a gift basket of some of the sponsor's products.

They receive the money from the sponsor. It was Marlboro this time, but Bud Collyer mistakenly said "Geritol", a sponsor of previous shows. It was Marlboro this time tho. I wonder was there some words said after the show or some argument by Marlboro saying something like "were not paying the money" because BC said Geritol and not our name.

This game concept completey falls down when the panelists can ask trivial questions that involve the secret identity, like 'what was the name of the doorman' . BTW the costume/makeup on the right is awful!
