In game 1, all the Peggys had very nice features. That Steve Allen is a lucky man to be married to Jayne Meadows. Greta looked as if she could benchpress a car. A very sturdy frame helped her swim the distances that she did.

Miss. Japan was crowned this year (1959) ,Norway and United States placed behind her. Interesting to note , Hawaii had their own contestant Miss Hawaii that year . This was the last year Hawaii was separate from the USA. Miss America won the following year 1960.

I always liked Tom Poston on the Steve Allen Show, Newhart, and other venues, but as a panelist on TTTT he rarely gets good info from the guests. Like Orson Bean, Johnny Carson, and some others, he usually goes for the joke, which are often not funny at all.
