No problem. It's still running really well and no problems with the lid or anything. It gets lots of usage too as it's our main bin 🙂.

Hello =) looking to purchase this product. Does the top bin (main bin) move at all or is it stationary?

Hi, the main bin is static and the bottom compartment is on wheels to allow it to be pulled forward and pushed back. I hope that helps.

Hi, we just bought one of these bins and it's great, but the bin lid opens very fast and shakes the whole bin. Did you do something to yours to get it to open nice and softly?

Hey, no I didn't do anything at all it just came like that. It's also new in the video so it's not like it was after any wear or anything. Maybe try contacting Totem directly? By the way my bin is still going really well so they do last. 🙂

Very helpful, thank you! Do you think you could use different bags rather than the Joseph Joseph branded bags? Is it heavy? Right now I have under sink garbage, and I’m curious if the dog will get into this. Thanks! 😊

Thanks for the feedback. Yes you can definately use different bags. Even a black bin bag can be used to line the 2 orange containers. It is made of metal so is heavyish as bins go I guess. How talented and determined your dog is will be the question 😁

Was seriously thinking of this, but how do you open it if you have both hands full - no foot pedal. Oh well...

By the side of the hand, arm or elbow, it really doesn't need much pressure at all to open.

Exactly then you have to use dirty hands to close the lid every time that would get we messy

@@songxingmu You could close it after cleaning your hands. If they put a pedal on it you wouldn't be able to pull out the bottom bin.

It should be under warranty. Have you contacted the seller yet. Try that first.

For that price I was expecting the bin to be airtight. Must be smelly to have the totem placed in your kitchen? 🤢

Thanks for the question. I've not noticed any smells from it. Any smells would only be from the food waste part of it and that has a lid which fits well and but also that bin sits inside the top bin so seems to work alright. It's also not huge so it gets taken out to the outside bin fairly frequently. With reference to the price, yes I understand that it is alot to justify on a bin, maybe keep an eye on the price as it does go up and down, also try shopping around different stores/sites. Also look to see how much similar bins cost from other suppliers.
