Totem Shaman is an actual Tier 2 meta deck in Festival of Legends! This list uses almost zero new cards, but some big changes to the core set have launched this archetype into relevance.

wild players completely unsurprised by this revelation. Even Shaman has been a MONSTER in wild fairly often over the expansions, there's a lot of great totem cards, most of which are in standard, so it just took a good core set rotation for it could be good.

Found the murlocs were not the greatest, traded them for Bloodlust, ETC (loaded with tech cards), the Totem that gives +2/+2 to a minion in hand each turn AND Cold Storage to copy my own totems. Extra Eys'ore Totem is great!

I've been loving playing totem shaman. It has a surprising amount of staying power and refill. I don't have jive insect or rotgill so I put in two scrolls instead and it still works pretty well

I've been playing this deck since Legends dropped. Sitting at 80% after 60 games. Drop a Party Favor and Evidence for Bloodlusts. Amalgam of the Deep always pulls a good totem. So much fun, it can really high roll and beat any deck turn 5/6

Notice how Pure Paladin, Outcast Demon Hunter and Totem Shaman all have minions that get their costs reduced to (eventually) zero and all good decks right now.

I include in this deck at least 1 bloodlust because there were moments where I had a big board of 1 or 2 attack totems that seem scary but if I didn't kill the opponent or clear their big or small minions fast enough I would just lose. Having the bloodlust allowed for an easy otk in a state where it felt like I was on the fence about what to do. Especially when I had big boards of 0 attack totems and say 1 big minion. I know you got the murloc legendary and the stonewright but its surprising how often you'll have big boards of low att minions in this deck where adding +3 to them all just ends the game.

I'm playing a version of this... I like this refined version. Though I do find Running out of fuel in your hand can be a problem. In the other version they use that 2 mana draw 2 overload 1 card, I forget the name, I wonder if that could be fit into this?

I was trying to climb with blood dk yesterday, but the games were taking too long so I switched to something like this and had an absolute blast! I think running at least 1 bloodlust would be great tho

i saw u hit legend with totem shaman,, i am scared to craft those 2 legendaries because i think blood dks are to strong and not sure if i can hit even diamond with totem shaman... idk whats your opinion?

I've played 45 games with a similar list since the new set dropped and have a 75% winrate in diamond with this. I have some thoughts and advice for anyone trying this, as it's been one of my favorite archetypes since ToC: * It can get hard countered by blood DK, but if they don't draw into all their removal (or don't know what they're facing and ignore totems) you can still win. * I strongly feel that not running Bloodlust in this list is a missed opportunity. Bloodlust has won me far more games than Fishing or Gorloc Ravager, so I cut 1 of each to put it in. I'm considering putting the other Fishing back in because it's a strong board clear option early game, and maybe dropping a Clownfish. Clownfish only feels swingy to me when 1.) you're putting down an Amalgam to copy a totem and hope to high roll for the Gigantotem, new 7 mana legendary, or another Eysor or 2.) you have a full board and want to play a Rotgill to get good trades and/or stack up enough damage boosts from deathrattles for lethal * Totemic Evidence is severely underrated by a lot of people. When fully infused, it plus Anchored Totem (anchored first obviously) is a way to instantly create a board that's set up for a powerful Bloodlust next turn if your opponent can't clear it. Even more so if Stonewright has gone down, or multiple Eysors. * It often feels correct to play Carver and swing on turn 2. I've even coined it out on 1 when I had an Amalgam in hand, knowing I could copy either the first totem or, if that was dealt with, the second. Basically what I'm saying is: Don't feel like you need to save Carver charges. You're almost always generating value. The only time I'd hold back the last swing is if you know the opponent will likely have board clear next turn.

Also for anyone in legend, a lot of this just may not make sense. I want to acknowledge that Diamond and Legend metas are often completely different. I've faced a ton of DKs of all types. Every other game is a DK. Lots of Fatiguelocks. A handful of mages of varying types. Some druids--the greedier list can actually out-value this deck if they stay alive. I suspect the typical DH list is also a very good counter for this with all the rush minions, but I haven't played against many.

Yes, the moment we've all been waiting for! I've seen glimpses of success with this deck type in Duels (with most runs ending in bitter heartbreak, of course) so it's great to see that it might actually work in Standard now as well!

I've tried a mixed list of the all in bloodlust and this one, seems pretty good aswell, cause even totemic evidence is a threat with bloodlust in the list (but that card is probably a questionable include). The murloc package also seems interesting, cause I just ran Ancestral Knowledge, but this seems like more interesting refill (on that note Melomania is kinda cool with Schooling and such).

Me too, Ive been running it with Bloodlust with pretty good success. If they ever let a big board live for a turn, Bloodlust wins you the game.

You talked about not seeing new cards from festival, so far the new expansion hasn't been that impactful in many decks sadly maybe a card or two here and then, outcast DH got a bit more but not really much all the same old stuff for the most part, its a bit sad to see but there might be some fun buffs or some refunds:)

It was printed just to save shaman from oblivion during the LOE era and old gods. Now it's super strong but not in wild particularly compared to the others cards in that format. It shouldn't be in standard it was a mistake

@@durinsfolk2402 Thing From Below is one of the best cards in Even Totem Shaman in Wild too. That deck was Tier 1 before this expansion, but now all of Wild is burning thanks to Twig+Sphere in Druid becoming much more consistent with Instrument Tech. Once that abomination gets fixed, then Thing From Below will be back in the limelight. Also, Shaman was in a really good spot in LoE, the expansion before Thing From Below was released. Aggro Shaman was terrorizing the ladder with Trogg into Totem Golem alongside 1 Mana Rockbiter on Doomhammer for burst. Thing From Below just made an already great deck even better. Personally, I think nerfing it to 7 Mana would be appropriate. Get it out of Even Shaman in Wild and slow it down a bit in Standard.

My first experience against Totem Shaman this expansion was a turn one 2-6 taunt that pulls a minion from the opponent's hand on to pulling their 8-8 giant totem from the mulligan 🤣 Assumed they would have cheap low stated battlecries to pull out but lost to RNG & my lack of knowledge of the meta

I've played maybe over 30 games with the stoneright and I think I drew and played it a total of 2 times. Is there a glitch where this card doesn't draw often or is it just incredibly bad luck?

The variant with TOAB and a few other card changes is actually performing almost 5% better win ratio than this variant. I prefer it personally. You don’t really lose anything and gain more card draw and a stronger win condition. Regardless tho TOAB fits better in this variant than Jive Insect imo. It’s jus so strong in a deck like this gets like 7 bonus effects. Windfury, taunt, divine shield, poisonous, life steal, rush, etc all at once.

I'd agree, especially if it gets good keywords. But for anyone who doesn't have this legendary and can't afford to craft it yet, use your Amalgams to copy totems whenever you can. I've high rolled into it at least every 3 times.
