Beautiful town, the buildings are all nicely preserved and colourful. (I think I've watched too many 'death of the high street' videos so it's nice to see a town with a thriving town centre) Great too, to see a market with lots of people and stalls.

I am in love with small english townships and their architecture and historic sites. And then all of a sudden after that bustling market visit- a castle on a hill! Now that is classy. I'd loved to have climbed that with you both. Hahaha " see you in about 2 days!🤣" Oh Paul, mountain goats😰! No you both did well. Takes practice. You've not been out and about much lately. Loved the what three words Watto ❤ now that exercising looked super scary, was she tightrope walking? Did that Robin Reliant beep at you? They are behind you! Panto Pillars. Brutus Stone indeed. Love that Tudor house. Ring the bell! This place looks lovely, we do need to get down this way at some point. A medler tree? St Mary’s is lovely, great that you can look around. Wow, that tower is impressive. Gosh lovely to see how popular it is, market towns do seem to fare a lot better than other towns and cities. Totnes Castle, English Heritage, i do need to make more of our membership. Wow that’s a steep old climb up the Motte! Mountain goats you are! Cracking views from the ramparts. Great independent shops, looks thriving, very refreshing. Boo to the town maps! What a stunning place and a spot on tour. 👍

Ah thanks guys. Really appreciate your support as always and am glad you enjoyed it. Steps are my favourite thing in the world ever 👍🏻. I am about a stone lighter than I was then ( September ) so getting easier. I think the tourists help the high street although interestingly I think there is a scheme where locals have a town specific currency which is used only in the town. I may be wrong in this but I did read it somewhere. 🤷🏻♂️. I Rkn it’s a good idea. Thanks again. See you next week. Oh and if you can sort out some nice sunny weather that would be ace. 👍🏻🚶🏻♂️🚶♀️

Totnes is a fascinating place we would definitely check it out if we are ever down that way. The red sandstone has such a lovely colour. The market looked good plenty of people around. The castle 🏰 was in a good spot a good climb up those steps but a great view when you got to the top, that carrot cake 🎂 worked wonders. Well i wasn't expecting you to mention my ancestor Walter Kellond ... i don't know much about him except what you mentioned. My mother is a Kelland and we have many Kelland/Kellond ancestors from the South Hams in South Devon. The story of William Wills is interesting. He was attached to what is now called the Burke and Wills expedition to cross Australia from south to north. They all died apart from one guy but i seem to remember they did indeed reach the north coast. Wills was a surveyor and surgeon, and it was his job to measure the distance of their travels using 'chains' ... a 'chain' is 66 foot or 22 yards,, and the 'chains' were actually real chains made of links of thick wire. There is an excellent book i read about the Burke and Wills expedition, entitled 'The dig tree'. - a very good read. OMG! They've moved the Brutus stone by! lol (by about 30 or 40 meters, and it looks like they've ground it flat on top) It used be sticking out of the pavement on the high street, kind of half built into the wall of a house ... a house i lived in when very small. I never believed that story about Brutus.
