Lyrics:
Paint me a picture of two lovers,
show me the lovers torn apart
You made me fall in love with you,
the dance of lovers takes two
Somehow the music stopped,
and so did our love
I tried to put the pieces together,
and I got a grip on my life
They say there's one born every minute
who holds on for a lifetime
What good is a lifetime if I can't be with you
I just wanna hold you,
just wanna touch you,
just let me love you
When I see your face,
my heart cries out for you
I guess that fools never learn how to fall out of love

Totally a Beautiful ballad!! He's handsome, beautiful voice and you can feel the passion he projects as he sings. Jean Michel Byron is fabulous! This song he wrote, the video of him singing this is one of my favorite. Great ballad!!! A++

Toto has been my favourite band for the last 20 years. My addiction to Toto's music started in '94 after listening to their compilation album Past To Present which contained this song. I always liked this song, but after my brief encounter with love last May in Turkey, this song suddenly has become personal..

Dare I say it? I will. I was a huge fan of Jeff Porcaro. He was THE desired session player from the late 70's thru the early 90's. Drummer of choice for hundreds of musicians, eg Boz Scaggs Michael Jackson, Steely Dan, The Boss, Pink Floyd, Bee Gees, Don Henley, Michael McDonald, Eric Clapton, Lionel Richie, Dire Straits, Bonnie Raitts, and hundreds more. Yet, I think Simon Phillips was/is a superior drummer, both in technique and feel. If you view Simon's stuff on youtube, you may grasp why I make this claim. Jeff could play a variety of grooves, musical genres, and was a consumate pro. Simon played with Toto for about 20 years, and he plays a ton of very complex time signatures, all while keeping the appropriate touch/feel that is the hallmark of JP and the best drummers "Hall of Fame," so to speak. Toto was fortunate to have 2 of the finest drummers EVER in their band. Last thought- why isn't Toto in the RRHOF????? Jan Wenner and his cronies allowed ABBA, Madonna, Run- DMC (wtf?), Donna Summer (wtf?), Janet Jackson (wtf?), Randy Newman, Pete Seeger, Cat Stevens (Allah Akbar!), etc.etc. The RRHOF is a joke. It took forever for great bands with huge fan support (YES, Rush, Kiss, Journey) to finally get in. I welcome any and all responses.

Tom Baker hey Tom, actually this was after they let Joseph Williams go. Silly to let two great singers go, JW and Fergie, but hey! Joseph is my favourite Toto singer, although they were all great. Byron here could sing, certainly, but I remember turning up at my first Toto gig in London, and he was singing instead of JW. I was so disappointed. I went to see a rock band and it was more like some kind of bad Michael Jackson, meets Nelson Mandela tribute, attempt to sing Toto. We, the audience hated it and sat in stunned silence hardly recognising the song being played. No disrespect to intended to anyone mentioned, but it was pretty awful. Not the band, of course.i am delighted to have seen Mr. W a few times since with Toto and have most of his, truly excellent, solo CD’s. Have a great day.

Qepd.

He has been sending hate letters to Toto recently. Shitting on them for kicking him out. Byron didn't have any abilities performing live. He sounds decent here, but he was really crap. And he thought he was some kind of Michael Jackson. It had all gone to his mind.

I don't blame anyone who criticizes their singer at that time. Jean-Michel Byron was nothing but a show-boat. Sure, he had a good voice, But Jeff Porcaro and Steve Lukather said that he was reckless, and thousands of people in the crowd during their concerts with him would boo them off of the stage because of Jean-michel

The Porcaro brothers (Steve Lukather) did the actual job in this song. With the precision of Jeff's play, the snare is just tremendous and the shuffle on the hi-hat and the leading cymbals, the phrases of Mike's on the bass, and the little completions here and there by Steve, David's organ blends everything and gives it an edge.
