Two songs 🎵 written by Bobby Kimball. Kimball actually came up with "Waiting for your love" in 1974. It was originally titled "Inside you" and on TOTO IV, David Paich also helped cowrite the tune with Kimball.

@Rick Waiting for you love was originally called "Inside you." Kimball started that song in 1974 . He said that himself. "You got me" was on the SEVENTH ONE (1987-88), NOT TOTO IV (1982), which came out about 5 years earlier. Kimball had no association with "YOU GOT ME" which was originally intended for Whitney Houston to sing. "You got me" was also written by Joseph Williams and David Paich. Check the credits , if you don't believe me. Thank you.

Mama, White Sister, English Eyes, etc was also co wrote by Bobby but as he didn't write much he had tour so much to just to put food on the table. He was doing on average 250 shows a year before he had to stop due to Dementia

@@jaggass He also had hearing loss. Bobby should've stopped (before he actually did)touring because signs of these problems were there and noticeable for quite a while after he was out of TOTO in 2008. But when you love what you do , it's hard to give it up easily.

I have a comment to make concerning the Dogs of Oz tour. Don’t take my comment as criticism of the band. I have witnessed the turnover of musicians since TOTO came east in the late 70s. True fans acknowledge Steve Lukather as the only original member who is out on the road nearly every night. March 2, 2023 in Northfield, Ohio, TOTO performed 14 songs including “With a Little Help From My Friends” as an encore. Lukather is so talented he could play in his sleep, and at times it appeared he was asleep. Several songs into the set Lukather had to have the band stop because Luke was somewhere other than the set list. Being a trooper, Luke had a good laugh at himself, took a deep breath, and it was on with the show. The next night TOTO was to open with Journey in State College, PA. I get it. To make money these bands have to travel and play live. It’s a grind. But it’s not fair to themselves or to the paying customer. Back to the set list. If TOTO would keep “Africa” under five minutes the paying customers would be as pleased as opposed to the un-energetic 20 minutes. Xavier is, without a doubt an extremely talented keyboard player and singer. Again, another extended solo. I love “Sput” on drums. No need for an extended drum solo. His talent, as well as the other soloists is evident while in performance of TOTO songs. That concert in Ohio on March 2 was a concert which excluded great songs from several TOTO albums. Dispense with the solos and the mind-numbing “Africa” marathon. There was nothing from “Turn Back,” “Isolation,” “Fahrenheit,” “Tambu,” “Mindfields,” “Through the Looking Glass,” “TOTO IV,” “Old is New,” or “TOTO XX.” I’m trying to forget “Past to Present.” Don’t judge me or get me wrong, but I wanted more TOTO compositions. Indeed, not seeing Paich on stage hurts. Joseph Williams continues to sing his best night after night. And herein lies the problem. The band was tired. Pierce showed flashes of enthusiasm, and Warren Ham knows when to step up. At best, I can only give the performance a B- for that night. I won’t go as far as labeling this iteration of TOTO as a tribute band, but for the money paid for a second row seat with two teeny-boppers mindlessly standing in front of me, I could. I’m 70 years old, and that concert was a painful reminder on many levels how difficult it is to Turn Back.

I appreciate every iteration of Toto through the years. I think Steely Dan is the only other band that can get away with this. If you are good enough to tour with Toto or the Dan, you’re expected to bring your A game every night. They attract the best. Maybe next year give Joseph the year off, convince Steve Porcaro to go out, and put Steve Maggiora out front to go full Bobby Kimball. Maggs can kick ass on Isolation songs too. Luke is 65 so he could have another 10 years in his tank. When he’s gone, yes it will be tribute band. I just don’t the music to die.
