@SideAFTVClips the fact that every clubs supporters do it doesnt make it admirable or worthwhile persuing. And if with people really cared about the club and its success instead of the surface level tribalism, they would care about the principles instead justifying the end goal through whatever mean. Look at United, their fans and pundits deluding themselves for 3 years that there has been progressed book eventhough at no point they could string 3 coherent passess together. And for what? Because regardless of the reality they wanted to believe / hope that Ole would be the one winning the trophy for them. Delusion / tribalism has no place in any walks of life. You gotta build upon tangible basics / principles and not try to work your way backwards from the result. How you build consistant success and prosperity is doing the basics for more hours than anyone else and that way you are on autopilot when it matters. Be it individuals like Kobe Bryant or collectives like Bayern, City and Liverpool. All what they have in common is the mastery of the basics. Once you have that achieved thats when you are cooking with gas and thats when the individual creativity comes to play. Stop being obssessed with getting a trophy and start being obssessed how you create reproducable brilliance.

I can't stand how short sighted some of you are.....Holding our second team CB just won us the game last Sunday. Tonight, he was tasked with going man to man against one of the Top 5 candidates for POS. He was always gonna struggle. He did his best to get tight and make life hard for Son. He's done the same against players like Mane, and come out a lot better off. But tonight Son was too much for him. For me, after the first couple warnings Holding got, Arteta should have realized things weren't working and made a change. ESPECIALLY AFTER THE YELLOW CARD. WE HAVE NO 1st CENTER BACKS LEFT NOW!!! from the kickoff you could see Son was getting the best of Rob, why are we still high pressing!? we didn't even have to win today. Players needed to take turns guarding (fouling) Son, like they do with Saka. Saying Holding bottled it, or cost us the game is ridiculous. Arteta's fielding a skeleton crew at this point, so many key defensive players out at the back, yet he wants to come in and dominate the ball at Tottenham, with half our second team in the starting lineup.....Listen, I back this group 100% win or lose because they fight for the badge, and they never stopped running, going forward even at 3-0 down. Arteta for me should have been more proactive, and Odegaard for me, as the captain should have been having a word with the likes of Holding to keep his composure. There was a lack of leadership in that first half that cost us the game. It's like Turkish said, at 0-1 down we still had a chance!

I really don't want poor refereeing decisions to cloud what Rob Holding did or, more to the point, what Mikel instructed him to do. It was clear from the first tackle that he was told to stick a few into Son early on and "Let him know you're there". All fine up to that point, a regular instruction from a manger to a defender. The problem is, it takes Skill, experience & Guile to do it without immediately getting the ref's attention. Rob Holding showed that he has neither of these for this type of scenario. It's my opinion that Mikel got this wrong for thinking Rob Holding could be Ben White. He is a good defender but he just doesn't have that in his game and it shouldn't have been asked of him.

First thing he said was we shot ourselves in the foot. He also said we weren't at the races and didn't defend properly. So he didn't just blame the ref and only said that after Cecil mentioned the ref.

If that would have been a penalty shout for Arsenal you'd have said it was stone wall and if it hadn't been given you'd have been saying that you got robbed

This defeat is a wake up call for Arsenal. We must learn to face the reality. Arsenal lost 9 points to Palace, Soto and Brighton and got only 6 points from crisis and dip in form Chelsea and Manchester United. This lot has exposed us again risking our Champion League chances. Now, we are in a tighter situation considering an away game to New Castle and a home game against Everton. We cannot afford a draw in either of those games else our hope for champion league will be dash.

How can they claim its not a pen when the arsenal player wasn't even facing the ball, he had one intention and that was to foul the Tottenham player lol

The ref did his job well. It is a soft penalty, but it is a penalty. Holding is 2 yellows all day. We just bottled it. Big time. And we were on the races, the first 18 minutes were good. But the pen and the red changed everything.

I know they are polar opposites but Little-Ty could learn a thing or 2 from Lee's humility & more measured assessment.

The last foul, the sending off was a straight red. Holding was reckless, he let Arsenal down.

Holding should have been sent off before the shoulder/elbow, and that in itself was almost deserving of a straight red, let alone a second yellow, and the penalty, was definitely a penalty.

The ref could have given a straight red. By the rules of the game an intentional elbow to the face is a minimum yellow. No complaints to the ref there, he was just doing his job. Holding was to blame 100%

Usually fan of Lee’s review but today I think the bias has taken over. Holding is and will be a liability when under pressure. A few good games don’t change that and neither does the ref. Typical of our form.

Let me tell yall what the fuck happened with holding, he came in, saw the match sheet, saw that Ben White was on the bench, and then he thought "well fuck me, I've got to do something to show arteta that I deserve to be in the lineup" and THAT happened.
@cmclean93342 жыл бұрын
Nobody is saying it but I have to, I blame the coach for the entire demise. Holding is out of control from the 5th minute there about on Artetas touchline. Did Arteta tell Holding to get a hold of himself. Last night I began to really fear an Arsenal player would sabotage the team by getting himself sent off. I kept seeing this taking place in CB. So Arteta is putting players on the field who won't listen to him - no wonder he coaches the youngest team, he can't command the respect of the older players is the obvious conclusion. Holding should not have gone from verbal warning, to a first yellow and a second yellow on the technical area touchline all within 15-25 minutes. That is not to happen. If he can't hear you gesticulate like crazy. Tell him he is about to hurt the whole team. If I saw the red card coming from the 5th minutes of the game from 10,000 miles away certainly Arteta has to be able to feel it and head it off from 10 yds. away. I won't waste time to comment on the selfishness of Holding. Good play Xhaka, red cards hurt your team. Finally,' thieving ref.' Man gotta take care a dem own business.

They needed to get a draw at least today. Tottenham have 2 piss easy fixtures next Norwich and Burnley. I am not so confident Arsenal can get 2 wins with who they have got especially Everton who will be fighting for their lives

The players tried hard and played with passion. Even at 3-0 down they kept going hard. Things fell for Tottenham today. I remember a few years back when there was no heart or fight in the squad. Fans seem to take it for granted now.

As an Arsenal fan I Disagree with this, Rob Holding shouldn’t have been so reckless with every single challenge and he referee warned him about it even though, I feel like Son should’ve been sent off at one point but it was very obvious what Son wanted to do and he fell for it and he lost the psychological battle and wasn’t smart enough to disengage for the challenge also Imo I feel like the penalty was very soft but Cedric shouldn’t have brought him down therefore the ref wouldn’t have given the penalty. Fair play Tottenham deserved the 3pts tonight top 4 is still in our hands but I’m very worried about Newcastle on Monday night hopefully we can get the win and bounce back from the controversial NLD
