Since 2019 there has been steady and deliberate decline as Levy failed to invest properly in the squad. Buying teens is only done for their resale value not for long term success. If Spurs wanted success they would have rebuilt the squad in the summer of 2019 and given Poch the chance to kick on. Instead he was sacked as results predictably dropped as the team got further exhausted and underfunded through successive managers. Spurs have failed to do the obvious and are now paying the price.

My take as a Spurs fan: Ange's in game management has always been an issue! I can count on one hand how many times his subs have made an impact.. I cannot possibly count how many times I've questioned, not only the XI, but the latency & quality of subs etc. Ange hasn't solved MOST of our issues! That back post has been a constant... Porro and Dragusin fail to cover the ends of crosses.. Porro is designated RWB.. but plays RMF.. The rarity of his defensive actions are in line with our GA stats.. Corners are no longer the issue we thought they were.. at least not that "We will concede guaranteed", but it is just another version of the back post issues.. Ange is not blameless.. but he is also not THE problem.. Every manager who's left us is now successful elsewhere.. We have world class talent.. All of them suffer. Son & Maddison from lack of confidence & inconsistency.. Deki from pure fatigue; that kills creativity, even in things like business & art lol. The rest are youngsters or injured... We also have an intolerable amount of players lacking quality..! All of them lost their edge long ago.. Players are now making bonehead decisions.. like Bentancur against LEI.. leading to goals conceded.. We need stability more than anything.. Losing the ball in their final 3rd and not having a proper DMF or CB to scoop the ball up before they end up in ours; leads to all these EASY counter attacking goals.. I've always said that we needed to sign that proper captain in the DMF role.. Commanding the midfields defence.. The board and Ange not even talking is also ridiculous.. All this time hearing Ange talk of "not my area".. Transfers SHOULD be his domain! Yes the Sporting Director is in charge of that, but not having Ange on calls to bring people in daily during the Transfer Windows is some bureaucratic bs, fitting more corrupt govs.. not effective recruitment.. I do not have time to bemoan some failure of a businessman like Levy.. Having 10x-100x your net worth at your fingertips and electing not to invest in us to seize it... What a joke.. Seems like the entire club is end-goaling.. not just Son! From the fans, players, manager & board. Everyone is trying to force things up that Sisyphus Hill.. Barking up the wrong tree etc.. The board is not going all in.. backing us fully! The manager is not adapting.. The issues we face are not a month old, where you can afford to eat some losses... they've been here all season and turned systemic! That requires proper change! Not just waiting for things to solve themselves, like tiny splinters.. The players.. I understand following the managers wishes, but MOST need to turn more conservative in their approach! Whoever is DMF especially! Bentancur really f'd us with that lackadaisical play..!! Where are the triangles we used for the 10 unbeaten games?! The mentality of always having 2 separate passing options.. especially forward..! Linking and connecting the team.. I also cannot believe that they are truly giving it all.. Making absolutely illogical decisions on the pitch IS NOT ANGE'S FAULT!! You cannot manage players who are not following the plan anyways.. The players are simply not doing what they are told! The "fans".. Trying to force the team to change.. wishing that Tottenham Hotspur would respond well to giving them stick.. Frustration is more than reasonable.. abuse is never! Now are the times that our support is necessary! Happy clapping at a 4-0 victory is fun.. but cheering the team on when 2-1 down.. is what WE NEED! I barely noticed the fans until the booes after the final whistle..... Yes.. it is hard to find strength to support a team that cannot win twice in a row.. but that is precisely the time when they need it the most! Search on KZbin for moments when the atmosphere aided in making historic comeback victories! WE have NOT provided this! Apathy or Anger.. seems to be the only emotions that are not ridiculed by Spurs fans.. piling on ourselves like an Islington native.. We are no longer a group of fans & supporters.. we are acting more and more like some scattered jaded Karens..!! Not really the place of "to dare is to do".. is it.. smdh..

Though Ange looks out of his depth currently, the main reason for this slump is years of limited ambitions from the board. Levy is the Mike Ashley of Spurs. Difference is Mike Ashley would be happy just for Newcastle to survive relegation, and Levy is happy for Spurs to just get Champions League spot, no need to challenge for titles. Levy is not going to get top players for Spurs, only youngsters with potential or 2nd tier good players, hoping to find a gem so they can sell for big money to finance the next window while letting the board to pocket nice dividends.

Ange was brought in for the express purpose to rebuild a club. He has blooded a lot of young talent that will get better. He basically needs a squad of 22 players (especially given that they are in 3 cup competitions) and he does not have this so there is more pressure on the existing squad hence all the injuries. What dastardly plan is this to bring in a manager to rebuild a team and then expecting results. So you screw the manager and the playing squad by not getting more reinforcements. Why?
@petebroady899319 сағат бұрын
When talking about Spurs poor form at the moment you have to put it in context. The bulk Injuries mean they have a small pool of players and those players over the past two months have been asked to play pretty much every three days. They aren’t robots and the results and points tally are a result of this workload. I’ve noticed as the angst has built among their supporters, Ange has been more vocal in his support for his players. He knows they’re giving everything they’re capable of at the moment and won’t cop people ripping into them. Last season they weren’t in Europe and the got knocked out early in the Carabao cup so they could cope with some injuries to start with and their form and points tally reflected that. You saw his system worked and it wasn’t until injuries to a number of key players that their form fell away. When Klopp came to Liverpool, he appealed to the fans to be patient and give him time to build something. It took three seasons to build a squad capable of winning a trophy. Spurs have been through 21 managers in the Premier League era. They have a history of not being patient and rarely give a manager time to build anything worthwhile.

It's hard to fathom how poor Ange is on fullbacks alone. 1) Always has them pushed up (out of position) and forced to play sprinting emergency defense; 2) This style has gotten Udogie and Spence hurt (and the CBs too); 3) He failed to include Spence in Europa; 4) He let Reggy sit when he should have been in rotation.

Biggest problem is Levy's micro management of every aspect of the Club. Also, he doesn't have a football brain having never played the game at any level and so looks at everything as an accountant does by looking at spreadsheets and the bottom line on profit and loss. We can't get rid of Levy as he is, in effect, the de facto owner of the Club. The Club would need to be sold lock, stock and barrel for that to happen. On his transfers, he has adopted a moneyball transfer policy buying youngsters hoping they develop into world class players to sell on for big profit and so on. If they help maintain the team in the top 6 and challenge for trophies not necessarily win anything he sees that as success! So in effect as fans we are in purgatory while Levy owns the Club.

I agree with Ange being part of the problem but the main issue is Levy and the recruitment team being absolute muppets. And the fans that are saying it's ok that haven't brought anyone in the window because Ange is probably getting sacked soon are all absolutely mental. The fact that we are where we are and with the amount of injuries means we naturally needed 2-3 signings to come this window. I wasn't happy with the summer window. 4 kids, Solanke and Werner was never going to be enough. Every Spurs fan knew about the holes in the squad. Ange has made some stinkers throughout his time here but the man has been asking for signing since December and the club has done jackshit in that area. Here's my problem with the no signings part. We left the squad 3-4 players short in the summer and how this season progresses has increased the number to 6-8 players. No one has come so far which leaves as short again. And come summer, regardless of who the manager is, they'll also be a few players short yet again. And think about what bkind of message the whole situation sends out to any potential managerial candidate. Who would want to come to a club that sabotages it's own manager during a horrible injury crisis. And what does it say to our better players ? They're dying on the pitch yet they get no help whatsoever. They're being run into the ground yet there's no support to take the load off or even to compete in the cups. I see a very real possibility of mass exit on the player side as well.

Are they? - City just go out and sign Marmoush. We’ve signed a goalkeeper. It’s clear there’s no backing and even if we sign a player or two before the end of the window, it’s too late. We needed them on January 1, not February 1! Levy and ENIC out!!!!

from being in the champions league final to being in a relegation dogfight... ange is getting sacked because he's not getting the backing either
@caldz439221 сағат бұрын
Klopp managed to turn it around at BD in the second half of his final season there and BD then regretted not extending his contract after that. He went through a very very similar situation as to what Ange is going through right now. A massive injury crisis that Klopp said was the worst in football history. He was also getting a lot of stick for his training style and high press game play with the media and fans blaming that for the injuries. They started off the season going from 8th to 12th then they dropped to the bottom of the league by Nov/ December/ January. But then players started coming back and they steadily climbed the table and finished 7th. The similarities are crazy if you look them up. Playing almost identical to the way Spurs are at the moment.

Ange & Levy need to go! Well they can’t be backing him if they’re not buying players in January. Because if they were backing him Levy would go out there and just buy players regardless of paying over the market value, but we all know that Levy only cares about profits and money coming in. I guarantee you we will sign no other players in January because Levy is waiting for us to get kicked out of the 3 cup competitions and as soon as we do, then he’ll sack him. Romero was correct! His comments about us not buying players like the big 5 clubs do, was spot on! I want Jürgen Klinsmann or Joachim Löw as manager. Or get either Harry Redknapp or Glenn Hoddle as interim manager.

Ange is a genius. We need to keep him and trust him. We are who we are and need to bring out another DVD.

As always, a fair and balanced opinion on what’s going on at Spurs. One thing though, please don’t resort to click bait thumbnails. You’re better than that. It’s one of the main reasons I don’t bother with Sonny’s channel now.

Just as an aside, Eddie Howe was not close to getting sacked. We had alot of injuries and that was understood by the fanbase, any rumblings was very much from the online contingent.. It was a poor season after xmas, but Howe had and still has alot of credit in the bank. first time in champions league in 20 years and battering PSG, a bad ref decision in paris away from qualifying from the group of death. His job was safe even with the drop off.
@michaelmckie9164Күн бұрын
Alice, you’re really knowledgeable but Newcastle fans never turned on Eddie last year. We had an injury run worse than Spurs and finished 7th.

Don't know of any Newcastle fans that wanted to sack Eddie Howe last season.

I think the problem for Tottenham starts with the academy. If you look at the players coming through except Kane (Winks, Skipp, Tanganga) our academy has been pathetic. Any talent touted as the next big thing (Parrott, Scarlett) cant get consistent game time in League 2 football Compare this with Chelsea, Arsenal even United who have world class players coming in. Honestly it costs Spurs approx 10-15k more/week to get quality academy players instead of what we have (Moore might be a one-season wonder) If everytime a position was needed and we had to spend 20-40m to buy a cover for that player instead we could pay top dollar for quality academy players so theyre available for moments like this

24 years of missing up under Daniel Levy and ENIC. They never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity. It is all about stringing along fans, gaslighting, broken promises and mugging off everyone.Enough is Enough. They have been outed.

levy promised to build on what Poch achieved, but reality is he has steered the club into a precipitous decline

It's levy!!! his wallet tighter than a duck arse. I want him gone as do many Tottenham fans. He is destroying the club with his lesuire complex projects. And focusing the football players incoming. Levy out out out!!!
@johnhuggins13942 сағат бұрын
The only way for Levy to leave,is for the fans to boycott all home games,and I mean,all fans Perhaps then he will relinquish control and see that Tottenham are making a huge loss from Spurs fans not attending games and.not renewing their season tickets until Levy leaves

Levy could always try to prise Nuno from Forest or I wonder if he pushed the boat out whether Antonio Conte's magnificent push for the 2025 serie a title with last season's mid-table plodders Napoli could be interrupted if he was made an offer he couldn't refuse. We can only dream I suppose!

Have THFC got the funds to buy players? Why, are ManC seeking, finding & buying players, in the January window yet Spurs, are dithering and they are unable to find 1 player, when we need at least 3? And we need them early on. If we lose Ange, the next coach will try to get the squad he wants. The finger has to point at the money men! Simply put, we are screwed!
@luutzennijdam7213Күн бұрын
PL Clubs financial management should always support the incumbent coach against the players-establishment. Or else a the coach cannot function optimally. So as said, ManU and Spurs are coach-wreckers!!!
