This season is one of the most competitive seasons I've watched in the PL. Any team can beat any other team. There are like 12 teams that could beat the top team if they get it right on the day. City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Forest, Newcastle, Chelsea, Spurs, Brighton, Fulham, Man U, Brentford, Bournemouth. All have quality to beat any team at any day.

Today was negligent but theyve been doing this for months. win, win, draw, win, draw, draw etc. Partey has been a liability for months, its not bottling that makes him walk away from Watkins. Bottling is about pressure. They are not playing like they cant handle pressure. We havent even got to that stage of the season.

As many have observed, this season is massively competitive and interesting to watch. With every team playing hard, there is no easy game but twists and plots galore. Too bad Arsenal can't kick on and take advantage. Undoubtedly, this season Liverpool have handled injuries better than most, and thanks to great recruitment last season that contributed to the team depth that in turn also helped the team tide over player injuries/illness this term. In contrast, exertions last season have been taking a toll on Arsenal and Man City in particular.

The situation today, has succeeded thus-far from Klopp to Slot. Alice, Arsenal scored 43 goals so far, only second to Liverpool. Is it not too simplistic to say that Arsenal are lacking strikers. I think the real issue is that Arsenal do not have the mentality to see out games. Today the problem is not that Arsenal haven't scored a 3rd goal. The real question is why does a strong defensive unit concede 2 goals when they are 2-0 up? Forest scored 30 goals so far and yet they are only 3 points behind Arsenal with a game in hand. If Arsenal get a striker and score another goal, I am not confident they wont concede 3. Arsenal dropped 21 points from winning positions so far! Alice, you are a fantastic analyst. Please don't jump on the bandwagon of Arsenal needing a striker when then real issue is that the manager/team can't see out games when they get themselves into winning positions.

The defensive liabilities secondary to injury is a bigger issue than the lack of a defined striker at the moment. No Saliba, moving Timber centrally, and using Thomas at RB creates a liability. Thomas not marking Watkins appropriately for Villa's second goal tells you everything you need to know. Not being able to defend a 2-goal lead is borderline criminal. The energy and pressing were great as long as they last-the team is knackered with lack of an adequate bench. They were unlucky with the hand ball goal disallowed and last-minute post hit but these things prob even out. Agree this season is a write-off unless an adequate attacker comes in, maybe a good UCL run. Congrats to Liverpool on winning the league in January.
