Ange should not have to learn about premier league football, it is just football where he has had many years of experience. The simple truth is we don't do the simple things well enough, like passing shooting, holding the ball up and pressing. These basic things don't only happen in the premier league

Well said and clearly we have an issue. Too many fans won't accept anything said about Ange but we have a clear and obvious problem with the training that puts players at such risk. Correct me if I'm wrong but of not heard of any major injuries at other clubs due to training. We have a major problem.

I don't believe people are questioning Werner's workrate, but his inability to score, given that he misses relatively easy chances.

Look at Zaniolo though. We tracked him for years and he can actually receive the ball deep, or high and beat players. Werner and Johnson are only effective with spaces to run into. You need to be able to deal in tight spaces too

@@hmq9052 I agree about Werner and Johnson only being effective with spaces to run into. Against low block defences pacy widemen are just the wrong tool for that job. Against a low block you want your front 4 to be an effective combination of prolific goalscoring, creativity, intelligence, technical ability and penetrative play. Not every player needs to have ALL those skills but you want those skills spread across your front 4 to terrorize a low block effectively. Unfortunately, ange can only play very old school, basic, repetitive and predictable "beat a man with pace and play it central" plays, and so increasingly this season with son moving to CF, 66.67% of all of our front 3s (werner and johnson) are primarily just there for pace, with little else to offer, and they are worryingly played regardless of the opposition. And this imo highlights a huge problem with angeball, because even with son at the 11 position, unless you have Luis Suarez as your 10, Mo Salah as your 7 and Mbappe as your 9 you are kind of limited. This ange front 4 requires players that have everything - speed, goals, creativity, intelligence, teghnical ability etc and those players arent financially attainable for a club like spurs. Players that have speed to burn tend to develop as players around that aspect of their game and very seldom become intelligent playmakers or prolific scorers. The ones that do hacve everything are gold dust in football and we dont pay gold dust wages or transfer fees.

Dani Olmo will be a good addition, typical Spanish international, can play across the whole forward line. Good on and off the ball! Gallagher doesn't impress me,he gets lost when things get tight, gets lost in tight situations. Would rather keep Hojberg than bring in Gallagher who has no quality! Under 21's need to be introduced, especially from the under 21 who're doing well ! Gallagher would be a hit and miss!

Ange, clearly does not think the kids are the answer, they need a run out for sure, you just never know. Gallagher is an excellent presser and that is what Ange system requires. I think he will do well.

Sounds like a complete tear of the tendon that attaches the quadriceps muscle to the patella (kneecap). Gruesome injury and hopefully he can play again. Surgery is always 50/50 with regard to recovery. I pray for his recovery.

Where are we? It all comes down to "the expectations of the individual" at the start of the season. At the start of the season we didn't know what to expect from Ange and I believe we have made progress from the last couple of years under his guidance and 4th place is still within our reach. Also, from reports our club is doing very well financially and hopefully that will result in some class players being recruited this summer to enable us to kick-on. Cheers Chris. COYS

The under 21’s haven’t been good enough and we’ve rarely been in a comfortable position in a game!! 2 clean sheets in 20!! But Europa league & longer cup runs will definitely help next season….

This seadon weve had ten games without recognised centrebacks and n ow our remaining 6/7games without any recognised fullbacks! This season shows we need two players for every position. Weve got plenty of work left to do in rebuilding the squad.

Why can't the hierarchy and Daniel Levy do the right thing ? There's also a bunch of people brought in to do the right things in the background but little seems to be happening in improving the ream. Paratici seems to be the one who did well by identifying potential talent! On another note the under 21's are doing well with youngsters like Donelly doing well. Why can't they also be given a chance? Arsenal are where they're coz of their juniors, e.g. Saka,Rowe etc

I’d probably say 5 transfer windows as need 3 summer windows and pre seasons to rebuild the squad, agree we need to see the youngsters coming through more. I’d have rather seen Santiago & Donley come on to try and change games sometimes this season. Hoping they all smash it in pre season & get in the squad for next year

Really wish Harry Kane had gone to Bayern Munich for a half season loan and come back at the start of the 2024/25 season! With a few additions, Spurs would challenge for the premiership and Champions league! Jane is now on 36 or so goals, almost a goal plus every game! Mad stats! Let's extend some leniency to Ange this season. However, we must see enhanced team performances in the next season. They need to advance further in the cups and secure a higher points tally. This is, of course, contingent upon Levy providing him with the players he desires.

Ive become quite pessimistic of ange's prospects and worry about giving him a load of money. The fact that he can only play with pacy wingers means this side are playing with the brakes on and the steering wheel off, because the pacy wingers he has (son aside) are not prolific enough in front of goal to compete at the top. The only being able to play pacy wingers is a big part in why we cant beat low block defences and have dropped 23 points to them this season. The fact that Maddison plays outside of his best position (wide 10) in the centre where he's less effective because Ange only wants speed out wide. The fact that Ange's preferred midfield is defensively soft with no steel and not good at retaining possession, and is imo the biggest weakpoint in our defence. The chaotic highline - Poch also played a highline but poch's highline was incredibly well drilled. Where Wanyama or Dier always protected the defence, Dembele and the fullbacks used to cover each other's runs like pistons -when one moved forward another would pull back. I dont see that organisation between defence and midfield with Angeball and a top back 4 are too often caught out. Even if Ange improves some areas this summer I think some of our problems are permanent under Ange and I do worry when i see some of the mediocre turkeys we're linked with for this summer.

I’m astounded on the stats you quote for Werner. Stats can be interpreted in many ways. Actual tangible output for chances taken leave me no doubt that I don’t feel he’s a long term solution. The following players Ange must sign are Patterson, Hincapie, Doughty, Gallagher, Danilo, Olmo, Williams, Marmoush and Gimenez. Danilo is required to axe Skipp but would ideally be used as a backup. Son must play in left wing next season to allow the strikers Santiago Gimenez and Omar Marmoush to sign for us. Anthony Patterson must sign as he will prove to ve the perfect backup for Vicario. Gallagher will axe Hojbjerg. Doughty would axe Sessegnon plus orive to be a perfect backup for Udogie.
