Finally something good to watch during this boring International break 👍🏻
@benwebber81322 ай бұрын
Nobody enjoys it and the season gets very exciting at this point and it has to stop for that. Added to which England are awful to watch despite the attacking talent and Southgate has to defend himself as he can never say we played poorly.

In other news, I'm going back to the lane for the first time in 30years (almost to the day) cannee bloody wait... Last time round Mabbutt was captain, Paul Walsh signed my programme, Anderton wasn't injured and we beat Oldham 4-1.. I'm hoping we don't play as complacently as we did against Fulham. Sorry I've nowhere else to shout about my excitement - my friends are musicians, they just don't care 😅

Regarding the non-Spurs topics, TV/movie reviews... please don't go the "shorts" route, I think most of your audience is here because we like the longer format of videos which is becoming more and more rare and valuable in the sea of tik tok and shorts. Don't put a time limit on it, just speak as long as you've got something to say ;)

Hi Ali, Saturday's England game was a non event. Light years away from the greatest England v Brazil game I've ever seen. The classic in the 1970 Mexico World Cup. Brazil won 1-0 but England missed 2 or 3 glorious chances and Gordon Banks made that wonder save from Pele.

From an aussie perspectivs, almost all afl players cpmplete a university degree while playing full time. The clubs like it because it keeps the players in the library rather than the pubs 🤣
@davidhorne26722 ай бұрын
That’s a good point and seems sensible however some of these EPL players earn as much as an average AFL player earn annually. This means setting them up for a life after sport is not as big a focus.

Fantastic show AG! I also saw those same reports on the Ben Davies interview and I was blown away by the completeness of this man. What a well-rounded and inspirational individual to have at our football club, not everyone's cup of tea when he's named in the starting 11. But by gosh what an incredible person and what fun it would be to sit down and have a dinner with this guy

At least we have 3 days between Luton on Saturday and West Ham away on Tuesday. In the early 70s I remember us playing Revie's Leeds at home on Good Friday and Chelsea away the next day.

Big up Ben Davies wow 😮! Fair play to him I’ve always liked him as a person and a player which is weirdly controversial to say . I have never seen him give anything less than 100%. That’s all you can really ask for. I thought he filled in remarkably well at LCB. I think having him around the squad can only be a good thing. There’s a reason every manager has liked and trusted him. I hope he becomes a coach at Spurs personally.

I agree with the international break, its a pain having all these breaks during the season. My solution would be to play all the international games in one month so you know that for one month (say March) youd have all the qualifying games in one month and for the rest of the season you could focus purely on the league. This is probably the one thing i agreed with Wengers ideas to reform the international calender

Thanks Alasdair. Lots of interesting topics in this video. Scott Munn as “The Munster” - I love it: you know that label is going to stick now! You are not wrong about the international breaks - they are a waste of time. I certainly have no desire to watch an England side with Chilwell, Maguire, Dunk and Konsa in it? Also, how can Mainoo start ahead of Madison? Is Southgate trying to ingratiate himself with the Man United hierarchy - they are welcome to him if they really want him. Ben Davies is Spurs through and through. He could be a future Spurs manager though I would certainly bet on him managing the Welsh team in the future.

It doesn’t look like there is a clear plan for move to another team, and clearly they aren’t seen as next in line to take over #1 goalkeeper or even a back-up keeper. Do you know what will happen with them? What is usually the path for “young” goalkeepers in this position?

The best news from the International break was Dane Scarlet getting a hat trick, it came out that Bentancur has been playing with a broken toe since before the Crystal Palace game other that it's been dull. As for Ben Davies I'm kind of hoping now he ends his playing career with Spurs and joins the Academy coaching staff, I think that would be great. As for your idea about reviewing TV shows/movies I'd be curious to know what you think of my favorite TV mini-series of all time but I'm not sure you are old enough to have seen it when originally aired in 1976. It is "I Claudius" starring Derek Jacobi, I thought it was brilliant then and still watch it on dvd. My second choice would take us up to 1990 Ian Richardson starring in the of "The House of Cards" trilogy, 1993 "To Play The King" and 1995 "The Final Cut" which was the the weakest of the 3, the first two were certainly powerful TV, Ian Richardson was amazing. The original "X-Files" wasn't bad and "The Bletchley Circle" was definitely an interesting concept all old TV series I know but sadly new one's don't seem to keep me interested. The first 2 series of "Dexter" were ok but after that it was all the same "The Game of Thrones" again a couple of series and just couldn't keep interested, the biggest difference between TV shows then and now is the languange, the excessive use of profanity, not needed, not entertaining.

Alasdair you need to recognise there is a big international tournament round the corner and these matches are necessary to look at players. Vicario made his debut, Porto get back in the Spain team, Scarlett scored a hat trick for the under 20’s. If we ever played a midfield of Maddison Sarr and Lo Celso, with Bissouma and Bentancur as well we’d be very strong indeed. The break will do us good before the Luton game. Good luck Ben and Wales tonight.
