I'm so glad there's a video on Pochottino's Spurs. Honestly unbelievable we didn't win anything with him. That first 11: Lloris, Walker, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Rose, Wanyama, Dembele, Eriksen, Dele, Son and Kane all deserved silverware. Levy never gave him enough to really push to the next level, so we had a bench that was mid table level. Even went a whole season without spending a single penny, yet still reached the Champions league final. Under Ange I'm getting similar feelings to those Poch days, hopefully this time it can result in glory. COYS

Me too, but because of some toxic fans, I'm nervous that they'll sack him before the season ends

I think Ange can do it, he has the ''go for the kill'' mentality that poch was missing. What Ange is missing however is a starting 11 as good as that one

Right after I was asked how did you choose Spurs of all in the Prem and my answer is simple I believe Spurs were a beautiful brand of football when I fell in love with the team. My mate said Jose was Spurs' greatest manager , well under Poch we were a top three club , contenders in every cup and he took us to a European final and we were no stranger to UCL and Spurs were wrong to sack him.

I became a Spurs fan right at the end of Redknapp and Andre Villa Boas. But Poch really took me into the inners of Spurs Fandom. Tottenham til I die

Our final season at the Lane in 2016/17 was probably our greatest.

Such a good video. Poch doesn't get enough respect for the team he built. I believe there was one stat that during 38 league games, Spurs racked up the highest number of points, enough to win the PL - unfortunately it was across a calendar year (2017), and not one season. Just bad luck. And during the 2016-17 season, the imperious defensive duo of Toby and Jan were in the top five of ALL teams across EVERY league in Europe. Respect.

Pochettino's time at Spurs will remain memorable regardless of the fact that they came so close to winning silverware. That era truly defined Spurs' motto. Poch knows how to get the most out of young players and as a Spurs fan, I hope that he does well with the US national team

Spurs were right up there with the best teams in the Premier League for about 2-3 years, but never quite managed to string it together for a full season. It’s often said that Spurs bottled the league on both occasions they were in contention, but those winning runs that Leicester and Chelsea went on at the end of those 2 seasons were absolutely unbelievable and they just couldn’t quite catch up, sadly.

I think if Spurs had signed Dybala going into the 18/19 season, they could have won something that year. However, Levy did not want to pay an extra 1 million for his image rights

I've always though that we would've won something if we had stayed at White Hart Lane a couple more years and we hadn't gone two transfer windows without any sort of signing :'(

Man City make this kinda senseless, but if football fans could chose, would you chose your team to be a stable top 4 team that never wins trophies or a team that wins a trophy every 5-7 years (including cups or PL, but NOT a CL) but has cold runs finishing just around top 10 in between? Outside of the said MC, it's impossible for a team to sustain champion level while being financially healthy, so which would you rather have? I guess another option is to have a team that is dominant for a few years say win 4 out of 5 PLs and a CL trophy but then fall out into mediocrity afterwards with fans having to remember those days of glory with misty eyes 20- 30 years after.

why did you have to mention the champions league final, the handball decision still just makes me angry every time i think about it
@grandenapoli772 ай бұрын
Well I’m glad they didn’t win against Chelsea that day, sure Spurs winning the league would be a wonderful story, but come on, it doesn’t even come close to Leicester’s one

Yes I agree, but Tottenham should have won the champions league. After the comeback win in Amsterdam it would have been a great story.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of what Poch did for us. But all those fans crying when he went and begging for him back should really think about how he failed to win a single trophy with THAT squad.
@arpitsrivastava6937Ай бұрын
He was hella unlucky as well sometimes. We got robbed in that CL final with that penalty call. Playing your first ever CL final and conceding a penalty in the first 30 seconds takes a huge toll on you and it showed for the rest of that game. I guarantee you if not for that penalty, Liverpool would have struggled more than us in that final and that second goal from Origi would have never happened. As I said, he ran out of luck exactly when it mattered the most
@matthewnicholas6365Ай бұрын
@arpitsrivastava6937 you can't guarantee anything. Liverpool sat back and easily soaked up everything we had in that game after their early goal. For all anyone knows, had they not been gifted that, they could have gone hell for leather and we'd have seen a very different game. We barely had a shot worth noticing until late in the game. If we're talking ifs and buts, the big one would be what if we still had Dembele that game.
