I remember watching those hilarious late-night TV premium-rate rip-off phone-in competitions (there was no internet and nowt else to do). The questions were always impossibly obscure - nobody ever won - and the directors were alert for time wasters. But once - just once - some lad slipped past the telephone security measures and managed to get the bleached-blonde presenter to read out his name [yes, it was Mike Hunt] live on air. I bet it was the greatest moment of his life. Recording TV was a pain back then - hardly anyone had a VHS recorder - but I like to think that he managed to get it on tape somehow. Just the audio would have got him free pints at his local for a year.😁

I'd completely forgotten about this series. She's a brilliant comic actor. The classroom sketch is great but they always get it wrong on TV. That class would probably all be shouting out/making noises and interrupting both her and each other.

I've never seen this before and I think it's brilliant! She is very good and the sketches are well written. Now, the question is; Why did the channel who broadcast this not promote it more? Didn't relate to the London Luvvies that run TV? Too provincial? She didn't go to private school? Didn't tick the PC box? Wasn't enough positive discrimination? Thanks for posting this.
