Why're the lyrics different than the album version??

the album was recorded earlier, probably when it was still in its off-broadway days (i think), these were the new lyrics used on both broadway productions and other productions :)

I was just in a production of the show at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and these are the lyrics from the show. The lyrics were edited after the show had opened on broadway, that's why the lyrics to a couple of the songs are different on the soundtrack to how it's performed on stage - particularly purple summer, totally different lyrics in the show compared to the cast recording

most of the songs are different than the album version. purple summer has different lyrics, a different arrangement, and an added verse at the beginning, touch me has different lyrics, and then there were none has a cut verse, whispering has an added vocal line for melchior...
