TOUCH SENSITIVE SCHINDLER M SERIES ELEVATORS @ Four Seagate, Toledo, OH (read description)

These are the elevators at Four Seagate, an office building in downtown Toledo. These are European-spec Schindler elevators, with touch-sensitive M Series buttons, rare voice and chimes, and incredibly intelligent logic with the most accurate leveling I've ever seen. This is one of only three known remaining M Series installations in the United States, and the only one of those three outside Florida.
Despite being labeled Schindler Haughton, I doubt these have any Haughton equipment. They may very well be the oldest proper Schindlers in the US.
Schindler's controls with this system were very clever. Instead of selecting the floor like you would with a normal elevator, on these elevators, the buttons are used to enter a code. Each code activates one of the floors. I saw one building employee enter "2-4-4-5-3" to access the sixth floor, however, when I tried it, it didn't work. Floors C, B, & L are accessible without a code.
The eighth floor may be open to the public during the Social Security office's operating hours. Just my luck that they close early on Wednesdays lol.
Oh and I got kicked out at the end of the video by a security guard. I would make a bigger deal about it but the lifts themselves are too important. He essentially told me not to film and that I had to leave. Almost usual nowadays lol.

Really awesome elevators! Those voices reminds me of the Schindler M-Series in a shopping mall in Singapore before they got destroyed by KONE. They had voices which sounds almost like these ones except they were female. Speaking of code entering using floor buttons, Mitsubishi also have that similar feature as an option. I'm not sure if it is also offered in the United States, but it is definitely available here in Asia and Europe.

@IDLift3000 you mentioned floor codes using the buttons, Otis offers it as well. It's called Car Security, anytime you see an Otis elevator with a restricted floor light and a secure/clear key switch, it shows that the elevator has this feature. I've seen that kind of indicator at a shopping centre in Penang, Malaysia. Personally I like the "Scrolling indicator" before than this video. But these are so rare in the US!!! Great find!!!

I still find it weird how I recently unintentionally found a video of these by a non-filmer. You wouldn't get something quite like this (esp. w/ the SchindlerHaughton logo) if you were outside of Toledo or even the state of Ohio. That is weird how the code worked for 1 person but not for you.

Do you know if these had point leveling (elevator slows down until it stops, and doesn't stay at a leveling speed even briefly)? I think European Schindler elevators sometimes level this way. There may be 3 known installations in Florida, but not sure. The entering a code using the floor buttons feature seems ahead of the time. I have seen newer elevators with this feature, but usually not elevators this old. There was one Schindler with M-Series fixtures in the United States another enthusiast filmed who either closed his account or deleted his elevator videos. Do you remember the video? If so was it of elevators in this building, or was it a different building?

Pretty sure that both systems in Miami got modded by ThyssenKrupp. One is remaining in Tampa, the ones in Chicago got modded, and if any ever existed in Detroit they've definitely been modded. Not sure about the ones in Fort Lauderdale. ElevatorRailfan may have filmed these, he was a filmer in the area that deleted his account a while ago.

I didn't know that, are there any pre-mod videos of them? He is who I was thinking of. I am fairly sure he filmed some Schindler elevators with M-Series fixtures, but not sure if it was these or not.

Never knew these fixtures were available on US soil or I've seen them in America before but I forgot Shame ADA doesn't allow tactile buttons Perhaps there could be an extra tactile panel while keeping those signature buttons
