Most of the times the rule is applied to the opponent, is the writer's fault, because they don't specify who it applies to, and Simp doesn't want to be called a coward. So I'd say the challengers are now better at specifying the details instead of leaving it up to interpretation. In this case, they still didn't specify what "touching" is and, as per usual, Simp used the hardest interpretation, meaning all 8 adjacent squares, instead of just 4

when you think about it, do the pieces actually touch? they are hypothetical objects existing only in the 2D world of your computer screen. plus, even the physical chess pieces they represent are made of atoms and atoms don't touch each other. I think I found a loophole in this challenge.

Tbh I don't get the idea of all these "you can't capture if..." challenges, when Simp already did just "you can't capture" and made it here again. Now every such a challenge is just an easier variation of already completed one. Sometimes Simp can lose easier challenges as the oppenent's behavior is random, but anyway it's just a repetition and nothing unique.
