Hey People! It's me, Solomon Cazer, and I am doing a dramatic monologue from the movie called Mystic River. I am playing a character whose daughter died. :( I am sixteen and this is my first monologue. Any Criticism is Good Criticism! :) Thanks!!!

I loved it. The only thing I would say is that (and you probably already know this) you need to find something traumatic (or extremely painful) and fully lose yourself in that hurt. Surrender to the pain, let it take over. When you say "I want to hug her one last time", I want to believe it a little more. But seriously…. for your first monologue.. this is amazing. You can only go up from here. You have great instincts. I need to work on the same things I am critiquing you on!

Yes, thank you for the criticism... I really appreciate it... I hope to post another one soon and apply criticism such as the kind you gave me, in future monologues. thanks again! ☺

Very good. Where do you live? If it is in LA or New York I hope you are getting lots of work. I was wondering why you chose a monologue about a father who has a daughter who is older then you are? I personally don't care but as you probably know, casting directors always want you to do something you could play. Also I am confused when you say you can't cry over her and you are crying. In closing there wasn't one moment that I could say"He is acting",which is good because every moment was real. Well done.

It's great but it's a little bit rushed , maybe next time try taking longer pauses even tho it might seem like forever in you're head , leaving longer pauses just makes the scene seem a lot more authentic and in a way connects with the audience! You're emotions throughout were perfect. A lot of great actors show too much emotion , like in scenes like this were you're supposed to cry/ get teary you delivered it beautifully in a way that shows the character as being a little embarrassed to be crying in that moment! Well done and keep it up :)

Soli Studios As do I. When I'm in a better position in my life, I hope to pursue it relentlessly. It's been a dream of mine since I was a child. Sometimes I like to get on youtube and look up monologue videos so I can see who's really got it and who slips up. I didn't expect you to be this good. A mistake I see a lot of amateur actors make is that they don't usually pause long enough to make their character seem like they were really thinking about a line, and those who do make those pauses, make them unrealistic based on their body language and facial expressions. I think performing that pause and think action is a critical part of any role, and it has to be done just right. You nailed it. Absolutely nailed it.
