Terrific video! And, as of September, 20, 2024, New York City has more skyscrapers that are at least 1200 feet / 364 m tall than every other city on earth: eight! I visited NYC last month and the skyscrapers, among other things, were splendid.

Freedom Tower seems to be one of the few buildings that seem to look athletically pleasing today. Maybe it's just cause there was two of them, but the iconography of the twin towers feels so massive and overpowering, yet calm and reassuring. There was lots of detail in it's simplicity. The three new buildings look like promising designs for a future movement. The apartment buildings however really suck in design. Wow, you build a walk in stick. So fancy.

if world trade center didn't exist there would be for sure skyscrapers already in new york over 2 thousand feet but new york still has the most supertall skyscrapers in the the world and biggest economy and popularity

In honor of the twin towers I don’t think one WTC height won’t ever be surpassed the twin towers fell as the tallest building in the city and they want to keep it that way which I do like. I firmly believed before 9/11 that no building in NYC was ever going to surpass the original WTC due to its symbol and t he fact they were twins probably didn’t want to get that overshadowed by another building , but then 9/11 happened and changed the whole ball game.

This history would have been more complete if you had started with the Woolworth Building, and had shown the building downtown that the Chrysler was competing against. . Otherwise it was enjoyable.

Just real quick, both the North Tower and the new 1WTC are both stated to be 1,368 feet tall to the roof top (not counting the 1WTC's communication rings). Why did the 1WTC appear a little bit shorter?-an optical illusion perhaps?

If the Chicago Spire would have completed in 2008 rising to 2,000 ft at 150 floors it would have returned the world's tallest back to America just a few years before Dubai Burj was completed. Nothing is final. To be continued..At this point I don't care where the next tallest in America is built. Just build it and bring back the world's tallest title. If OKC can jump in the game go for it. It doesn't always have to be restricted to just NY and Chicago. It could be LA or Houston. Many cities in China can build tall so can American cities.
