Just a comment, the Crooke's paddlewheel experiment doesn't work because of the momentum of the electrons, but rather because of expanding gasses from heat. The force of an electron striking the paddle is an order of magnitude less than the forces of the expanding gas.

Hey what's it like to blow a huge ceramic fuse, does it bang or just burn out?
@Photonicinduction9 жыл бұрын
+matt rogers They can rupture if over 80,000 amp on short circuit, lower amperage just causes the wire to break and get quenched internally with sand to extinguish the arc.

He says the paddlewheel turns because the impacting electrons have mass and thus momentum, and push the paddlewheel. That's certainly true but there are so few grams of electrons flowing compared to the mass of the paddlewheel that I don't think that alone can get it to turn that fast. I think what's happening is the same sort of thing as a radiometer… the electron beam heats up one side of the paddlewheel which in turn emits infrared light, and the radiation pressure of the emitted infrared in turn pushes the paddlewheel.

back in 1984 I was playing with an old Sun car engine scope and a coil from a car. the oscilloscope said the coil was producing 54K and I was getting it to arc to ground. what fun till I decided to see just how long an arc I could get and the current decided to used me for ground. I felt it all the way up to my shoulder to the neck and made my short term memory a little sketchy for about 30 minutes.

You should try to replicate the Philadelphia Experiment! 6 x 5 meter Tesla coils with connected primaries mounted at 90o to each other in XYZ axis, mounted on the US Aldridge. As voltage was increased a corona started to cover the coils . Increasing the voltage further, the corona turned into "an electronic fog" that coved the ship. Increasing the voltage further, the fog disappeared, so did the ship, but those observing could see the water being opened by the ship's hull. Then the whole damn thing disappeared & rematerialized in Norfolk 200 miles south of Philadelphia, confirmed by Navy personnel on shore. 10 minutes later it reappeared in Philadelphia... the 20 sailers on board were fused with metal walls & float of the ship &either died or had body parts amputated to get free. The rest had psychiatric issues. There are few details that I never got.. but the Tesla coils in X Y Z configuration, each one independent primaries, but held together by Bakelite is the only thing I found in common from all descriptions over the last 15 years! I also have plans for an electrogravitic device that flies. 10 meters in diameter. Let me know if you are interested, by replying to this post.

It's not safe to touch the primary coil or the coil in the middle, instant death. But the secondary coil is a different story, the flat ball thing in the top, you could touch and still survive without dying, kinda feels like a small shock when touching metal in winter or a tickle.
