First Time Reaction to "Monsters" by Iam Tongi on American Idol

Iam won it, and a couple of weeks later he graduated HS. Days later (in June) he started his concert tour. He’s been singing to sold out concerts- two of those at the Troubadour. The international leg starts in Oct. He’s writing music and singing it. This is what his dad wished for him. You can tell he feels his dad is with him on this journey, but it’s also hard at times.

Followed this young man's journey on the show it's so heart warming. He's great at interpreting the message of the song and has a beautiful voice He's a worthy winner. 🌟👌

You gave a beautiful and heartfelt reaction. Rodney was talking about seeing the world with Iam. Days later he was in the hospital. Monsters was on in the car, while Iam was going to visit his dad, so he sang it to him. Rodney had a long talk with Iam and told him he was going to be successful, but he probably wasn’t going to be around to see it. James singing beside him, Monsters being played the way James does (not Iam), made Iam go back to that last time in the hospital. That’s why he broke so hard. I don’t know how he powered through it. James too. You could see his hands shaking. It was beautiful to see them singing to their dads and to each other.

He must have won by a landslide. People in the audience cheered and shouted every time he sang. He's so special.

In the duet the audience didn't cheer when James started singing but did when iam started singing. Not a dis on James but we just ❤ iam.

You really need to go performance by performance with all judge comments to see his talent, growth, and grief healing. He is healing millions all over the world. He is 18 and authentic from beginning to end and beyond.

Nah, it's Iams song, validated by James Blunt who loved it and Iam. Others should go find their own defining song......

@@junesmith6379 I shouldn't feel this way either, because Iam doesn't. He's thankful James wrote this beautiful song for all of us. Cakra's dad died in 2015, but he probably was introduced to it by Iam (like many of us).
