First Time Reaction to "Feeling Good" by Angelina Jordan

Hi, Touchy and Sandy! Thank you for another enthusiastic reaction to Angelina. In my opinion, she is the best singer in the world, and there are thousands of others who would agree with me. Every nanosecond you spend featuring her on your channel will being you great emotional satisfaction. The Allsang pa Grensen performance you featured was performed some 6 months before The Stream Gir Tilbake one. I like both of them, but there is no doubt in my mind that in the performance on The Stream she had shed all childishness from her voice and her stage presence was commanding. From that time on it was manifestly unfair to judge her by phrases such as "for her age" as she had earned the right to be teated as a professional singer. The comments below refer to her performance on The Stream. There are so many things I get from this performance. Some I recognised immediately and those I missed were brought to my attention by the more observant Angelina fans (her Angels) and I thank them for letting me know what I had missed. (1) The realisation that at the age of 10 Angelina has shed all childishness from her voice. (2) A feeling that the placement of the spotlight at the beginning of her performance was deliberate. If it was, then, to my mind, it was a brilliant move. (3) The fact that Angelina arranged this song and that the band kept out of the way and let her voice be the focus. (4) The incredible low note she sang for the word "good" at the beginning and end of the performance. (5) That wonderful crescendo at the end. (6) The was Angelina used her left arm and hand throughout the performance (7) The way she changed the microphone from her right hand to left hand, so that she could flip her hair back with her right hand. (8) The cheeky smile she gave to the cameraman when she realised he had focused on her at about 4.23 in your reaction video. (9) The sideways look and grin she gives to her instrumentalists just after she curtsies to the audience -- as if to say, "Yeah, we killed it, guys! Now let's go get some ice cream!" (10) The almost instantaneous switch from "performance" mode to that of a young child who,curseyed and gave a sweet smile to the audience as an acknowledgement of their applause. Others have commented that the performance by Nina Simone should be considered the "gold" standard for this song. Until recently, I had never watched her performance, but have now done so. They just cannot be compared, for Angelina's arrangement is totally different

Angelina wore white as a child and transitioned to technicolor as preteen. She wears black only when she does a tribute to someone who had passed (grandpa, Avicii, Lisa Marie, Aretha Franklin, Frddie Mercury etc). In those tribute videos you will find her dressed in black and cutting out the feed right after the song ends.

Nice reaction, love it. The first time I saw a reaction to both performances back to back. 👍 The first performance was a charity concert in support of Plan International Norway, a charity dedicated to children's rights to education, protection and health care worldwide. It was broadcast live nationwide on TV2 Norway on Friday 30 December 2016 in the presence of Foreign Minister Børge Brende and Education and Research Minister Torbjørn Røe Isaksen. You can imagine the pressure, right? The second performance took place half a year earlier on the second day of the sing-along show Allsang På Grensen, which was also broadcast by TV2 Norway on June 30, 2016. So Angelina (born January 10, 2006) was 10 years old both times. If you like the white dress, you should enjoy it, because soon after that - when Angelina turned 12 - the white dress was replaced with colorful ones.

These two performances are like bookends to a fabulous year. Most fans are partial to the first version you reacted to (I know I originally was) but really, they are both likable for different reasons. I absolutely love the orchestra in the first one but I think the energized audience adds much to the second performance. I love Angelina’s “growl” at the end of the crescendo in the first performance, but I’m amazed at the sustained last note of the crescendo in the Allsang På Grensen performance. This “two-fer” reaction proves that with Angelina, there’s no bad performance. 🖤👣 It’s all good. 😉🌞

She lets the lyrics take her wherever they do, and then you get the beauty of her soul which she imbues into her musical interpretation she expresses with that gorgeous voice, a voice that has a direct link to our hearts. I'm not sure I can survive all this loveliness, but I must. I absolutely have to hear her first Republic release. If you haven't noticed, Angelina loves all cameras and is quite capable of playing with them as she does here. To put it another way. Angelina loves what she does!

At Al sang pa Grensen, the audience were sooo proud of her. Every age adores her. She was THE role model for many young ones (and maybe still is). To sing with this icon of Norwegian pride and maybe getting her flower crown. Often, so I understand Angelina gave away her flower crown. Hers were made of real flowers and expensive. I’ve been Republic records and she’s 14 years of age. They’re happy to get her and she don’t want to leave them very happy. She was in Paris, France, doing the soccer awards there. She’s soundstage good with one piece from Sweeten that she from Norway they know each other he’s a famous singer, writer, producer, and friends. When they left a song for they left a song we are the best there was a wonderful time in person today I’ve been positive one and a half. I got 200is my personal files.

The ones you watched were from December 2016 (aired in early 2017) and June 2016. She started to perform this song in December 2015 in public. Hi you 2. Great reaction to 10 Angelina. We really love how you did a double reaction on the same but different song. She was 10 in both. There is another one of the same song, but it's Angelina trying figuring out how she wants it to sound. It's a great one to react too. You see her behind the scenes at her home on what she wants the song to sound like while she sitting down at her little keyboard. Plus she just never sings a song the same way twice. 😀👍❤❤ (You should do this with her 2 main versions of James Brown's song 🎵 "It's a man's world ", they're both live one is with the military band 200th anniversary and the other is audio only at her Kongsberg concert in 2018 also and she's 12. If the date on the indoor performance is correct, it was in January 2017 just before her 11th birthday. The outdoor concert was summer 2016, about 6 months earlier. Really enjoy your reactions. This series ended in summer 2022, and Angie went back for one last show, performing Bohemian Rhapsody and I Have Nothing

In an inteview with a swedish newspaper she said she would release a singel in end of April and her album will come autumn/fall this year and a tour as well. Just to pass on the info i have beeing a Norwegian subscriber. 27. february she was performing "We are the best" together with RedOne (swedish artist) at FIFA awards 2022. They performed for 300 mill viewers, sadly some tecnical issues with sound in the chorus was bad. Great reaction!

I like your hair, Missus. What I like about Angelina and this song is how she does not rush that intro nor that ending. Her timing is always impeccable. It is so nice that Angelina doesn't perform the song exactly the same each time. She sticks to the jazz standard of improv, so subtle and not so subtle differences are heard in each performance. Heya you TWO, one of my co-"angels" informed me, that this was a charity concert. As far as I understand, AJ donates a part of her proceeds to childrens charity anyway, as she does with Alsang pa Grensen. Proud owner of Angelina Jordan Inc. since 12 she works her butt off for earning money, that partly goes to help children AND the homeless community in LA. To help others, you need money, not only good intensions. Someone wrote me, she was filmed by accident in the background of a TV-documentry about the homeless situation in LA. a note on the song: Iti from the musical "The roar of the Greasepaint, the Smell of the Crowd" by Anthony Newley and Leslie Bricusse in 1964. It has a absurdist plot about power, class, and race. Three characters : Sir, Chippy, and the Negro are in a contest to see who is the best man. as Sir can change the rules at any time it seems that must be the winner, but in the end the Negro wins! To the he expresses his joy by singing his only song in the musical to express his feelings at proving that he is a equal to the other two character "Feeling Good". angelina added the Crescendo to the ending in her arrangement. I hope it will the new standard ending now!

Yeah they started with Back to Black. A very niche song that isn't for most people. Seems some love it, most don't. Her performance of it was fine for sure. Great even. But at that age just singing well wasn't what was special, today she's so good it's enough. Back then it was more about moving people so well, which most seemingly won't get moved by that song.
